Teutonic Order - can't start crusade against Lithuania

Hi all,

I am playing vanilla ss 6.2 on m/m. Campaign with TO is going quite well thanks to "TO Bible -16 turns". After I occupied all rebel settlements in baltic I decided to follow history and start a crusade against Lithuania, however the Pope declines my request(I have 6 crosses). and everywhere its written that TO starts crusading in first 3-5 turns... it takes more than that for my diplomat to reach papal states...
Is there anything I am missing?

If its important for your to follow / emulate history teleport the diplomat or use character_reset.

I dont think you are missing anything. You are not in favor with Holy Papa enough to give you a crusade.

You need at least 8 in my experiances...Bribing will get you there quick.

You won't get a Crusade approval with 6 crosses early in the game. You gotta ally with the Pope, and that will take you, hm, maybe 6-7 turns if your diplomat starts in the Baltic?

You could make alliances with other Catholic nations on your way to the pope, that will increase your relations with the papal states.
