Yeah I think that Legionnaire would end up being on Town watch. I don't think he would last long in a Legion out in the field, would need more training.

i bet these guy's play RTW aswell

but the Hoplite Class is very hard to use , they need'd more of them to be a great weapon not only 1 guy, like the roman guy, he can solo and with a group they would form a good strong wall too.

As amateurish as this was, the advantage of the Legionary tower shield is evident here. Far more opportunities against a solo Hoplite.

Then again, Rome never had to face the Hoplite at its best/peak, so we'll never really know.
