ETW worth it?

I was thinking of buying Empire Total war as I am a huge fan of the series. I would have to upgrade my computer though. I have heard that the game is very buggy and has a lot of technical problems. Has this been corrected or should I wait until it is properly patched to buy it?

Also, what system requirements would you recommend to play it on? I don't mean the minimum to run it, I know what those are, I mean what is best for game play?

Just get a solid graphics card. something like the nvidia 9800 GT 1GB is really good for its price, and it runs thousands of units on highest detail without the slightest lag.

My suggestion,

skip ETW and go for Napoleon. Way better.

However, give ETW a try if you like the idea of conquering Viriginia with the Marathas Confederacy, or if you like seeing Ottomans in London.

Napoleon is much better though...

As many people have said before, if you like conquering just Europe, with a bit better gameplay and graphics and stuff, go for Napoleon, but if you want to conquer the Americas and India, go for Empire. I personally think Empire is pretty fun, and I personally like it more than Med II.

ETW is definitely worth it. Get it patched up and as long as your system is up to spec it should be fine.

Empire is not worth it and if you plan on waiting for it to be properly patched, you're going to be waiting for a long time.

Empire still has problems (constant wars, diplomacy, sieges...), but with some mods, it`s quite good experience!

empire is not bad. however many would agree that it is not the awesomeness anymore that previous titles were. if you are a big fan of the period you will get thousands of hours of fun watching your armies form a line and rub their muskets for 30 min. if you are not a big fan of the era i d only get the game for a discount price personally.
i do not think its worth upgrading or buying a new computer for this game. i d just get the game when i am upgrading/buying a new pc for other reasons or games.
