    Default screen brightness

I connected my laptop to a nice jazzy monitor, but the monitor is all in like, sepia tones and it looks like . Like actually.

How do I make it brighter and look like my laptop, only bigger?

    Right Click on Desktop>Properties>Settings Tab

Select the Extended monitor device, most likely number 2, if not then Identify.

    Make Screen Resolution More.

In terms of Sepia Tones, perhaps restore defaults on actual monitor itself? Or increase brightness on it?

In your monitors menu you can adjust both brightness and color, alternately right-click your desktop and either choose to open CCC or Nvidia control panel (depending on your GPU brand) and there are options to change the colors and brightness from there. Adjusting the monitor itself is better though as it will keep those settings no matter what PC it is hooked up to.

Adjusting the screen resolution may also be necessary as Bartzy described.
