I always liked the Rome/Med2 reinforcement system better right now they're usless i mean one at a time really limits their effectivness.if they came in column formation all at once would be nice and realistic (i think). Also in MedII kingdoms i liked how you could give general orders to your reinforcements really helps when you dont want you ally firing when your doing melee or charge when your firing
    whats your view about it?

totally agreed man....the general control you can give to reinforcing armies in kingdoms (or was that a mod....) were great...they were there, didn't always do what you wanted, when you wanted it, where you wanted it...but....it was nice to have em on the field .. esp. against those pesky Mongols or Timurids - where you needed the reinforcements...well..at least i did...

it'd be cool to have a similar situation with reinforcements in NTW - but only if the reinforcing army had a general in it!!! you need leadership to coordinate....

Yes, definitely the previous games' system, and not only that, I hate how the flags still appear for reinforcement, even if you have them turned off. I don't know how many times the reinforcements have ruined perfectly good screenshots.

    lol agreed
this is one of reasons why i hate once at a time renforcements the ai cant handle it
since the general comes first he suicide carges in your ranks ( even if you beaing a gentlemen and wait at the center) and it doesn't know how to wait for other units to arrive before attacking.
i mean i want it to be like this
i fight a army a enemy army with 1200 and the enemy has 1150 but their reinforcements are 1300. so that i have to rush to defeat the first army before the reinforcments come not get 2 units and wait for them to suicide charge.
Also i hate when somtimes my horses arrive in a single file line it takes forever for them to come

I actually wish there was a separate option just for Kingdoms. It was easily the best. You still had some control, but the AI could still do its thing if you wanted it to.

The reinforcement system in kingdoms is the ONLY way to reflect the Napoleonic corp system. As the reinforcement army comes on the feild the player can give it basic intructions attack, defence, all out assault. That is how Napoleon instructed his marshals. Just study the Waterloo campain and what happened at Ligny, Quatre- Bas, Wavre and Mont St. Jean. The corp system was the only major inovation of Napoleon. See any book by David Chandler, Gunther Rothenberg, or John Keegan on Napoleonic warfare. It is unexcusable that CA did include a game called NTW.

Nope. Many things are hardcoded into the game and would require the Creative Assembly to rectify.

Though the AI sometimes will messed up your plans in M2TW, but it is quite realistic considering the fact that many subordinates had ruined Napoleon's plans with their tactical blunders (notoriously Ney).
Also the distance with the battlefield is extremely important. If a reinforcing army is quite far from the battlefield on the campaign map, it should appear later (with all units marching together), and the units should be pretty tired from all that marching.
Also another important thing is the ability to deactivate reinforcements. It is really annoying when you autoresolve against a single unit and all your armies around them got hurt.

Rome had the best ReInf system I encountered (MII:Kingdoms is the only TW I never got my hands on, so i wouldn't know about that), but it still had its flaws.
I recall supporting AI ReInf artillery accidentally killing my generals more often than the enemy could.

Well old fellows, I must say although, some people find the current system rather dis-agreeable, I find it quite the realistic idea!
I mean, does it not make sense for the boys to be coming up as a rearguard or as a flankers?
But yes, I do agree that it needs some small refining.
