Default Game automanages cities, even with auto manage disabled?

Title says it all. Despite having selected 'manage all cities' in the starting campaign menu, and in the game options menu the game manages all my cities. All of them. Even governed cities are auto managed unless I uncheck the box, although this only happens when I end the turn and start the next. Any idea what's going on here?

Hmmm... judging from my experience I would say corrupted file maybye? Could also be a scripting error...
Check the prefrences and see if there's anything about it there.

I think it may be the latter, since (a) I installed it all correctly and have been carefully tweaking the EDU, not just editing it madly and (b) I've seen a lot of other posts suggesting the scripts as the problem, and have commonly suggested just using the 4TPY script instead. Thing is, I don't know if I've done it right. How do I install the correct script and get it working? Cheers

It may be the 4TPY script, I'll have Rio and JH look at this...

I assume you are palying the 7.03 Version of IB:RR. If so, then the issue relates to the full script. You need to jsut install the 4tpy script only and it should run fine.

Thanks man, my mistake, I should have mentioned that in my first post! I'm just curious, what's the proper way of installing the script? I must have installed it into the wrong place, since when I did it I still got the same result. Cheers

It goes in the show_me folder.

    The path should be: ibfd/data/scripts/show_me.

    It should work after that.

Tried it, no dice. Although I've now noticed that there's a text file and a new folder in 'show_me' now. The text file is called IBFD and here's a taster of what's in it
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    script

    console_command date 410
    console_command season summer
    while I_TurnNumber = 0
    suspend_unscripted_advice true
    end_while

    console_command date 410
    console_command season summer
    while I_TurnNumber = 1
    suspend_unscripted_advice true
    end_while

    console_command date 410
    console_command season summer
    while I_TurnNumber = 2
    suspend_unscripted_advice true
    end_while

    console_command date 410
    console_command season winter
    while I_TurnNumber = 3
    suspend_unscripted_advice true
    end_while

The folder is simply called 'ibfd' and has in it another text file and another folder as well. The text is called 'SCRIPT' and simply has '4TPY' written in it, nothing else.
The folder in ibfd is called data and has a whole load of other stuff coming off of it. Do I need to delete one of them or something, so that the other 'thing' loads? Sorry for the vagueness, not quite sure what's going on here myself.

OK, sorry about that. You should load the 4typ option into your RTW folder, it should work then.

Still no luck, man this is getting annoying! I deleted my ibfd from my RTW and am gonna try reinstalling it. Once I've done that I'll play the game, see if the same thing happens. If it does, where should I install the script to first time? The show-me location or the RTW folder as a whole? Cheers

If that does no good I'll just do a whole uninstall/ reinstall and see if that does any good.

Slight update on this now; I've installed the 4TPY script, and luckily for me it's stopped the cities switching over to auto manage. However, there's a slight problem in that the 4 turn part of the script doesn't happen...the advisor never pops up on the side! Any ideas about how I can activate it anyway? Cheers
