hello and sorry for posting here, but over two months i m posting, pm, open threads to find someone to help with a map...maybe gig would ask...why to hell you dont do it by your own, already now i m working nearly alone with my project, in every part, so beside rl it is very tough these days for me...so i will try my luck here

this is just a cutted map from oz, should reach from massilia to india, arabia should be shipable...time from diadochi till rome arises...happy for any answer...have a nice day

...someone mentioned it should be turned a bit, to widen asia minor-greece, cut a bit from the sahara...

Did you have a look at my tutorial here? That's how I did all my maps that are available in this thread.

All maps have only got three factions: england, france and slaves. All settlements are bare basic. No detailed ground types.

It will be difficult to directly convert that map. You can either do a 'handmade' map which is tedious and a long process, or you can have a look at the mentioned tutorial and see if you can get the same area there.

You certainly can do that, there are quite a few tutorials around for that, just click my 'Creating a world' signature part. I am not sure about the battle map textures, but that shoudln't be too difficult either, after all it's just textures.

Hey there Gigantus. Im working together with leoni on this new map. So i was made resonsible for making it all work and editing all the necessary files. I followed your mapping guide and also one TW guide so and i think im all done but when i start the campaign in Rome TW it just CTDs with no error message or log file at all although i activaed it in the shortcut and in preferences.

Maybe you can have a quick view on my files and tell me where my problem may be? Its all very streamsized to mimize potential error sources.

    All help appreciated.

Creating maps for rtw seams tedious.

map_roughness and map_traderoutes have the wrong size. This is actually for the Kingdoms\M2TW version of mapping - you will have more luck after that in the RTW forum.

Thanks alot. Crawling through all the rome workshop stickies and a lot of trial and error and editing I managed to get my new map running with just two factions and 21 regions. Its a huge map and the coastline is ugly too.

There is a thread in the M2TW map tut forum about the coastline: "smoother coastline" or something like that.

Geomod needs the string.bin files -according to your PM you have only the txt files (When I created these maps I removed the string.bin files to save on the size of the attachment.). Simply start your mod once all the way until you see the map, that will create the necessary string.bin files automatically.

I tried to use North_America with the Geomod tool, and when opening it says there's a ton of files that can't be traced and thus Geomod will shut down. Why does it do this? I really need a map of North America for a mod I'd like to make.

You most likely pointed Geomod at the wrong folder. Have a look into my manual on how to use Geomod.
