Meaning if it could be possible on either system, do you think it would be worth it? Would it be too hard to control or not be popular enough?

well, im waiting for developer to make use of the PS3's ability to use USB mice and keyboards.
I don't think it would work, for one you would be to slow in controlling your units i.e making proper lines quickly, you can also forget hotkeys for they are not enough bottons on a joystick and I don't think the Xbox360/PS3 can even handle the scale of TW battles with out severe lag.
All in all consoles are just not meant for RTS games.
Well... ummm the PS3 can use a keyboard, and the function works on games as well, just most games are not programed on the PS3 to use a keyboard in any way what so ever so the keyboard is useless, mice on the otherhand I dunno, but I bet they'd work as well since any generic USB thing I plugged into my PS3 worked, including generic PC controllers and such.
They work when the game was designed from the ground up to console, now porting PC based RTS games to console never works. Only problem consoles really have with RTS games is controls, the only RTS ever to work great on console I personally think was Army Men RTS originally made for the PS2, later ported to PC and Gamecube. PC version of it was no doubt the best but it was still just as fun on the PS2 since the game was nearly identical. The AI path finding was quite nice on the game, unless you're a spammer then path finding is awful but most RTs games are when you have 3 dozen soldiers in one group. lol

Wouldn't surprise me if at one point they tried. It doesn't belong on a console, but I've seen a lot of console games that shouldn't be.
Could they do it? Sure. Would it suck? Probably.

I don't even think it would suck. I think the typical PS3/Xbox360 playerbase wouldn't enjoy it too much. It's probably one of the few RTS's that could really work on a console.
It wouldn't work because CA would have no excuse for bugs and incomplete features.
Think Stormrise level quality (another CA game)

I don't think RTS games transfer too well over to consoles. I'd like to get Supreme Commander (1 or 2) for the PC. Had the first one for the 360 and it was so flawed it wasn't worth persevering with. Generally though, the controls are much better and more suited on the PC.

Spartan : Total Warrior was a good game for the PS2 as I remember. Not a strategy game by any means of course, but I'd like to see CA create something else of that ilk for the current generation of consoles.
well whats the difference? a bigger screen... better graphics?
You coudnt modify it though.

Bigger? *looks at 21" HD TV my 18" monitor isn't much smaller.
Pfft I made my own customized units for Empire Total War, of course I do not use them anymore because every update breaks them and I had to fix them and get them working again.I still miss my Forrest Jaegers, kind of like a Germanian version of Guerrillas.

Better graphics on a console? You're having a laugh, mate. PCs have been gaming on HD for years (it's called using a monitor), draw distances are better, resolutions are better, everything is better! Oh and good luck getting things like Darth Mod on a console version.
