    Default Recruitment Viewer.

    Hey friends,

I'm currently in the middle of a few campaigns. Some are going better than others but that's another story. I seem to have a problem knowing which units can be recruited in which regions by which factions under which governments. I'm constantly spending time on the recruitment viewer to familiarize myself with those questions.

I often find myself in need of a quickie reference while I'm engaged in my campaign. So What I usually do is minimize the game and switch over to the viewer. However usually after 2 or 3 times of minimizing and then going back to the game the program usually stops responding. Thus I am forced to reboot the game and hope the auto save has done it's part.

Now I had an idea of trying to copy the recruitment viewer folder onto my flashdrive and then perhaps running the viewer on my ps3 so that I dont have to constantly reboot the game. Does anyone know if this is possible? With perhaps the ps3 or psp? Or maybe there is another way to prevent the game from not responding after switching screens to the viewer a few times per game? Anyways any help you would be able to give would help.

    Thank You, Friends

Don't know about the possibilities of the PS3 OS, so I can't give you an advise on this topic.
However you can start EB windowed, if you use Trivial Script, enable the option in the settings/preferences, if you use a shortcut, add -ne to the end of your target line. Be sure to already have at least on other window started before loading EB, a simply explorer window is enough.
Using this system, I can switch as often I want between EB and my desktop.

Thank you. However my computer knowledge is very limited and I'm not sure what you mean by: "Trivial Script". Or "add -ne to the end of your target line." Can you help me out in these areas? Is there a video I could watch in order to learn?

I have several instructional videos on my site. This one is for creating the shortcut to EB (via ALX engine). Where you see me editing the "Target" line to say -show_err and -noalexander, among other parameters, that is the line where you should add a space and then "-ne" without quotes. -ne is a marker that tells the operating system to run the program in windowed mode.

Well, if you're referring to a golden pony boy, I think you might be talking about someone else.

Alright for whatever reason it doesn't seem to be working. I have windows Vista by the way. I hit start, go to programs, right click on EB single player, select preferences and under the shortcut tab in the target area it reads :

"C:\Programs\Rome - Total War\EBTrivialScript.exe" -s ebconfig xml -runeb -type "Single Player"

I then change it to read:

"C:\Programs\Rome - Total War\EBTrivialScript.exe" -s ebconfig xml -runeb -type "Single Player" -ne

I then hit apply and than okay. I close that window. Then I run a window page of Mozilla

I then go back into start, select programs, select eb, select EB single player from the list and then I get a message.

It says I need a response after the -ne portion like "debug" etc, it gives me a few options but doesn't mention anything about running the game in windowed mode. I then click okay to the message and the game starts up normally not in windowed mode. Am I doing something wrong or did I leave something out? Please help.

Change your Single Player shortcut back to whatever it originally said. You're not supposed to change that. If you want to play EB in windowed mode you have two options: 1) make a new shortcut that allows you to play windowed, or 2) use the trivial script to play windowed. I'll edit this post with a video that shows you how to do both.

EDIT: Change your Single Player back to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EBTrivialScript\EBTrivialScript.exe" -s ebconfig.xml -runeb -type "Single Player"

You have to start EB preferences or similar found in the RTW folder to change it if you are using the Trivial Script.

Otherwise add -ne to your shortcut for EB, usually 'EB Play'.

You fault was to change the Trivial script starter.

Okay thanks again. It works this time...Lol...however...EB is running in windowed mode in the upper left corner. Is there anyway to move the window or make it larger?

To make it larger simply set a larger resolution option in the game. It'll change either when you hit apply or automatically when you start your campaign or battle. And no, you can't change the location of the window. Too bad. This is how computers work (mostly). (0,0) is at the top left corner. The numbers increase as you go down and to the right, ending with (a-1, b-1), where a and b are the number of pixels on a [a x b] resolution screen.
