    Default Lag/Choppy Animations in Battle

THIS IS NOT A GRAPHICAL ISSUE.

In large battles, particularly with great numbers of infantry (Darth Mod is a huge problem), while the game does not lag, per-say, any and all actions I do take some time to actually register. Animations slow to a crawl, buttons take as much as a few seconds to understand that I moused over them, etc. Yet I can scroll and pan and rotate the camera all around the map any way I want with no issue.

I'm basically positive this a CPU issue, since Task Manager reported ~80% CPU usage on average during one of these battles, with spikes in the high 90s. That would also explain the symptoms, but what I am wondering, why does it insist on having a separate frame rate for all of these elements, and can I disable it? I would much rather it lag overall than furiously watch my soldiers move at half a frame per second when I am playing the game at 60FPS.

    For quick reference:
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.01GHz
    RAM: 4096MB DDR2 @1066MHz
    GPU: NVIDIA GTX470 1248MB

I had this same issue on my old 9600GT, so once again, I highly doubt this is a GPU issue. This happens inside and outside of Darth Mod. If this is some bug, and not just a 'feature' coded in the engine, a way to fix it would also be greatly appreciated.

    Attached is the dxdiag.

When did you upgrade to Win7?
Did you upgrrade your motherboard drivers to Win7 64bit?

This is my second install of Windows 7, and I have been using it ever since I bought E:TW.

    I'll try updating them now.

EDIT: Nope, nothing. It turns out I already had the latest, anyway.

it is a processor and coding issue, I have it also when there is too much man in the battlefield or there is a siege going on with too much and sometimes a unit get stuck in some destroyed part of the fort.

This game has been always like this as all the series. I can't use 8000 unit in any game of the series.

Anyways I don't enjoy seeing that much man in the battlefield, since the units (especially in empire) have a problem with formations, and the need for everyone to be in the firing position to fire, so pathfinding becomes a great problem, especially with the tress and fallen tress, wagon, and other obstacles that fill the battlefield.

So all in all personally I don't like any changes to unit numbers when there is not any change in terms of pathfinding, and this is hardcoded
