    Default Pendragon: Total War

Hi, I'm new here to the forum and I have a passion for RTW. I have all sorts of modding ideas, but cannot mod myself . So I need some help if I'm going to do this. Until further notice I'm the history buff for this one, but I need modders, skinners, scripters, animators, mappers, the works. I'll scout around to see who I can find but if you're interested PM me or post here.

It will be set in Britain and France from AD460-AD553, hopefully a year will be four turns and all sorts of complex scripting will be added as historical content. That's all for now. Faction concepts will start to go up tommorow.

there is already a mod like that, if you want a little different start to mod on it, not make a whole new one. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=107 is Arthurian total war, starting in 481 AD

    I know,

however Pendragon will add several details and new features which will add all sorts of depth to gameplay.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
For example, Pendragon will add new titles to certain family members, making them inrreplaceable to the areas these titles orriginate, but seen as a foreign nusiance in another area. These will also be hereditary. For example Cunstentien (A member of the Regum Britannium; a combination of Dyfeint and Ebrauc) will have the title King of Dumnonia while his son Gerran will receive the title Lord of the Stones. (IE. The eastern border around Stonehenge) Also there will be a complex religious system with three branches of Christianity, Pelagian, Celtic Christian, and Catholic. Pelagians will increase management skills while decreesing influence due to the fact that it is hersay yet is popular among the average people. Catholics will have a boosted influence but low command because they are unsure of how to act in battle based on the teachings of Christ. And Celitc Christians will have reduced management because these will usually be the agressive warlords who like this combination of Celtic ideals of heroism and divine intervention in battle and so will give those family members who are Celtic Christian boosted command skills.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Oh, and there's also going to be a new set of retinue items such as the Pendragon Banner, Christian Druid, a "Myrddin Man"(IE. An Archdruid/bard so respected that he can take up the name of the pagan god of Wisdom and Music. Can be both Celtic Christian or Pagan. [Notable Myrddin Men will be Madog Morfyn, and his son Lailoken. Both inspirations for Merlin. Belong to Elutherius of Ebrauc and his son Arthuis respectively]) which at the same time are used in game. Druids, priests, and Myrddin Men will also be diplomats, some of them will have many traits and be famous historical figures like Lailoken and Gildas, others will just be made-up priests and druids.

And on top of that I intend to add historical events, like the Saxon uprisings of AD485 under Aelle, where the peace started by Ambrosius towards the Saxons will be shattered, and the Saxon uprisings of AD460 under Hengist of Kent, which Ambrosius crushed. Or other things like betrayal from certain kingdoms or steadfast friendship and support from another. And on top of that when a new High King is chosen his faction receives instant trade rights agreements from all neutral factions and an exaction of tribute from all neutral and allied British countries. This is to help build you up and get ready for new waves of hardship. For example at the beggining of the game if you had normal income playing as Ambrosius Aurelianius you'd never be able to support or likely survive fighting a constant war for years against hordes of the united Saxon tribes. And now, due to unforseen delays, faction concept for the Regum Britannium will go up on the weekend, hopefully.

Why not just make a mini-mod out of Arthurian TW then? The stuff you mentioned can be modded just by editing text files so you won't need a 3D modeler or mapper which cuts the workload in half already.

O know, I'm working on getting it as such. But I can't mod so it'l be a while before this might get started.

I first read "Pentagon Total War" and thought "What, he wants to make a mod where you have no money?
If you really do this, It would be very nice. However, there are quite a few started Mods like yours, which never are finished. Many Modders have great plans, and when they realise how much work it really is, they stop.
