German campaign
Hey could anyone give me a few clues to win in the german campaign? Im playing on h/h but gaul and macidon seem to go to war with me at the same time and with my economy i cant take on the Macidon units. I have little trouble with gaul until macidon shows up. Save my Kingdom!

Re: German campaign
Hmm German campaign on Hard/Hard is very difficulty...
you could try to build up a strong economy and then train lots of troops.
i invaded Gaul first and the Macedonians you can easily win from them by flanking.
or maybe hire some Hoplite Mercenaries....
i think you should find the awnser by yourself.

Re: German campaign
keep your taxes on low in all your settlements - population growth is a huge weakness for the germanic tribes. beat the gauls before the macedonians take down the greeks, illyrians and thracians - it will be sooner than you think, but by that time you need to have your settlements as large as you can to retrain troops without population decline.
make use of your pila (not sure if they're called that for the germans, but i mean the throwing spears), germanic spearmen have loads of them. get your general (+any other cav) behind enemy lines for hammer and anvil tactics, which work well against phalanx based armies.
take viberi as early as possible, and get it above 6K population, so you can train black warriors there, they're awesome and kick ass without breaking a sweat.
if you manage to take aleria, that's a major plus, as it is already quite large and will be a good troop producing center. Noviomagus is a good alternative, it grows much better than the rest of the german towns.
and finally, always remember to cut off their heads and send them back wrapped as presents. It freaks them out.
