    Icon5 MP3 player troubleshooting

My system has been having some issues with some of my portable players for sometime now and haven't been able to fix this. I've tried re-installing, then un-installing (after failure) to install again and all this started acting up since I started using Windows Media Player (version 11). I've unistalled that to see if the MTP driver for it was causing these issues but no luck although i've tried looking for replacement drivers.

I have three mp3 players a Creative Zen Vision M, Sansa Clip and an old iPod Nano that I seldom use, the former two have issues. Not been able to update these since my system can't recognise them

I'll be open to ideas as long as a system reformat isn't considered

    Try this page: http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=213&CatName=MP3+Players&subCatID=214&subCatName=ZEN&prodID=14331&prodName=ZEN+Vision%3aM&bTopTwenty=1&VARSET=prodfaqRODFAQ_14331,VARSET=CategoryID:213

I think this is the support site for one of your players. I see a couple of software updates as well as a firmware update. It might be that the incompatibility is on the player side and not with WMP. Good luck!

EDIT: And n/m the smiley in the middle of that mess - the link should work. If it doesn't let us know.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think this helps me too much but the situation I'm under in this case is at step 4 in the second half of this article

There's no incompatibility issues on my players part, and the only thing stopping me from updating the drivers is I have no drivers to update them with... (occuring to device manager it needs no driver)

I've been trying to update the drivers but all I keep getting is 'Problem installing this hardware: MTP Device)
