NAPOLEON TOTAL FACTIONS.....(last update 28/04/2012)

I can't get it to work. I installed it, clicked the shortcut, NTF starts and i choose sp all emergent, the user.script pops up, i paste: mod "NTF.pack"; , then save and close and start up NTW like i always do and when i choose coalition campaign it's like vanilla, Austria, Great Britain, Prussia and Russia. Also the music and sounds won't play. Why doesn't it work?

Check if mod is installed in the right location. By default is is installed in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/.../napoleon total war/. Right click on mod's link, select properties and check the path. If it is not in the right place, unisnstall mod, install it again and when installer shows default installation path link it to your game's path (..../napoleon total war/).

any reason why NTFboot.pack would suddenly start preventing my game from launching? would like to know why i cant play NTF anymore. did something happen?

Perhaps you had been messing with your files?

Have in mind these: 2 boot files cannot be in game's data folder, so it must always be either vanilla (boot.pack), or a modded one (e.g. NTFboot.pack). Also one boot file must always be present there. It does not matter which one, because it does not have any effect in game. It is only what you see when it is loading.

Vanilla boot.pack is stored by NTF in data/backup folder and is replaced by NTFboot.pack. When you play a vanilla using NTF or uninstall properly the mod using the appropriate link, NTFboot.pack is removed and vanilla file is restored back.

the problem occured when i verified the game cache files while the mod was in place and it wrecked not only the mod but the game. so in the future to whome it may concern, DO NOT VERIFY GAME CACHE WHILE MOD IS IN PLACE or Steam tries to recover the original boot file and replace the the NTFboot.pack that comes with the mod.

maybe everyone already knows this and im just an idiot but this would have been useful.

I installed it and am having the same problem as so many others: once I start up, my campaign choices are limitted to the ones in the Vanilla. I made sure the mod was installed in the proper directory and I tried taking the NTF Boot file and putting it in the NTW/Data folder, but that caused NTW not to start at all. Putting that file back in the NTF folder made it work again, but I'm lost . Anyway, its a great mod once I get it working so +Rep

Iam not sure if you are aware or it may be my installation of your terrific Mod, but on the sub menu for the selection of the Campaigns the options for EGYPT and Italy are in reverse i.e Select Egypt and you play the Italy Campaign or is something I have done?

No i cant do that because when it crashes i HAVE to cut off the power supply to try it again.

Another question: i would like to install the additional Portuguese units pack, i read about several manual modifications to do, am i wrong? Does it touch both Peninsular and European campaigns?

Hi,your mod seems to be very awesome,so I downloaded it and installed it in "napoleon total war" directory.Then i run NTF and click singleplayer all playable,but when I click play the error pops out and says it cannot find "Napoleon.exe" Help would be much appreciated!

Probably you have installed mod in wrong place. Uninstall and install again. Here you can find details: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...9#post11546289

If this is not the case then post your log report found in ...\napaoleon total war\NTF\ntf_log.txt.

Exuse me, but i just tried out your ntf mod. I'm a big fan of ntw, and quit honestly, only playig as the origonal 5 factions. When i tried to download the ntf thing on your post, everything worked out fine, i extracted t, i followed the instructions, it all worked fine. Until I chose the faction i wanted to play as. It got me to the load screen, but then it just got me to my main screen saying that napoleon total war was not responding. I tried it with all the other campaigns and still the same problom. I then uninstalled ntf and downloaded it agein, thinking it was a bad download, but it's still the same problom. This has been going on for a few days. Please help!!!???

Every time I start it crashes. I dont realy understand "IMPORTANT : To run the mod launch Steam manually and then start NTF". I don't realy understad by "launch Steam manually" part, could you explain with more details?

At first, you should check if you are running any other mod(go into the NTW Folder/data,remove any .pack which doesn't belongs there).
If that doesn't work, could you test it with different factions, so we can be sure that it is general problem.
If NTW crashes when it loads these factions too, it would be nice if you could post a screenshot of the loading bar, just before it crashes. As far as I experienced, if there is an error at the .esf file, you can see it at the loading bar.

Hope we can fix it for you
