The 6.2 link isnt working and i cant seem to find it by searching.
Tried 6.3 but wasnt keen on it and cant remember if i played 6.1 or 6.2 before so was looking for the 6.2 changes.
The first link doesn't work but the second one
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=204562
does and I recommend checking out the Stainless Steel 6.X Install Guide on that topic as well.
Aye thx, tho was looking for the original 6.2 rather than the patched rc4, but oh well.
Ahh i was remembering wrong.
I thought there was an earlier version of 6.2 which allowed forts to be built , but i must have editied RC4 to allow forts. Wasnt a RR/RC version as im dont like that mod
Thx

That was never listed in this topic and I'm fairly certain that gracul removed the links when he updated his 6.2 release post to RC4. Why would you want to go back to a early release version anyways?
If thats the problem then there are plenty of 6.2 related posts you can search for on how to reenable forts.Could have sworn there was one as RC4 disables the option to build forts while the original 6.2 allowed them.
Wasnt a RR/RC version as i dont like those.
Maybe im remembering wrong and it was 6.1 afterall. Huh.
Can't build forts - what should I do?
or to be more precise:

What is the latest faction list?
Stainless Steel 6.4 just came out couple days ago. They can hook you up...

Thanks.
I feel terribly stupid for asking this, but what was the last version of SS to be for vanilla? The sad thing is I used to be a regular here but played myself out.
Also, if I only have disc 2 of Kingdoms (I honestly have no idea where disc 1 is though I think some computer guys stole it when I had to get it fixed) would I still be able to play it?
And if its possible, how could I possibly make it use only M2TW discs to play the later versions? I highly doubt that is possible (well easily possible).
Heres a link to old versions of SS: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=383005
Man, I recently reinstalled m2tw and accidentally left disc 2 in there. Wouldn't let me play it without disc 1 in the drive. I dont know if there is a way around it though.
SS v4.1 was for vanilla, later versions were kingdoms based.
You can without installing kingdoms. Put the disc 2 and run the setup then uncheck every campaign and the patch v1.4 will be applied after that simply copy\move the kingdoms.exe from disc 2 having Teutonic campaign i believe to your main installation folder.![]()
Damn! That was quick!
Ah so its 4.0 that I'll probably be playing then. I might have to go out and buy Kingdoms again.
Regardless, does 4.0 stand up to the test of time? Guess I'll find out anyway...
And rep for both of you.
EDIT: didn't notice last post (was typing). Thanks also.
