Hi Everybody,
I need to get a great set of books that describe fighting techniques from ancient to modern times!
Any clue as to where to begin?
Thanks,

These books are a pretty good start, though they aren't as detailed as some others: http://us.macmillan.com/series/FightingTechniques
So far, the series doesn't really go further than the Napoleonic age, but it's probably just a matter of time before a WWI or WWII edition is released. The Naval warfare book does have some stuff on WWI and WWII era naval battles, though.
Just my two cents.
EDIT: Just so you know, there's also a book in this series on warfare in the Colonial era that isn't listed on this page. It's the newest in the series, IIRC.

"By the Sword", written by Richard Cohen is very very good, beginning with ancient egyptian ritualistic fighting styles (similar to modern olympic sabre) and covers pretty much everything in reasonable detail until modern times (2002) I believe.
What are you researching for?
