Default Playing from an External Drive.

I have installed Call of Duty: World at War on a 200 GB External Drive, so that I can play it on a separate computer. However, I get a problem that involves installing DirectX9 on this different computer. I cannot directly install DirectX9 on this computer, and therefore I cannot play on the other computer. How do I get around this?

Why can't you install dx9 on this other computer?

Can you download the DX files to your hard drive and save them? If so then you can carry them over to the other system and install from the HD.

Also, it might be easier to follow if you label them "System A" and "System B" when you're writing about them - I'm a little confused on the matter as you weren't very specific. Thanks!

Most likely against global/local security policy of the computer, as it may be at work or uni/school.

I doubt that... he wouldn't be trying to instal WaW on a uni computer or rather, shouldn't

Haha, maybe. And no, they shouldn't. But keywords; External Drive poses this possibility.

Best way to get around it, make friends with the LAN Admin, say in passing, "oh i think that latest direct x needs to be installed, it will help make the uni/school a better place "
