Default Seeking Guidance on Mod Preference(s)

Okay, I attempted to search the /submod forums to check reviews, and peoples opinions - but at this stage there are tens of thousands of responses, and it has become somewhat difficult to navigate. Some TATW submods are more in-depth than most game mods!

I've always enjoyed playing mods with TW games, but I generally prefer mods that don't alter everything - I've had bad luck with CTDs and such. Now...that is not always the case.

Naturally, there are the following "heavy weights":

Real Combat + Recruitment for TATW 1.4.1
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=259833

Divide And Conquer - An Expanded Faction Mod
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=262063

Middle Earth Enhanced - a mod compilation for TATW 1.41 and RC/RR May 7
(this appears to be gaining a lot of popularity quickly, despite being a recent addition)
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=355906

    Middle-earth Lore submod
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=269194

By listing these, I'm not attempting to insult, or disregard the other mods out there - but there are several hundred active mods. That is a testament to how much TATW has gained in popularity, attention, and the fact it is such a quality product.

While navigating the /submods forum I basically got lost. I felt like a Hobbit in Fangorn trying to find a tree that's a different shade of green than the rest of the green.

Thoughts? Personal mod preferences? Likes/dislikes? Go away hamster you're scaring the children?

That's my personal favorite. IMO it rebalances the game very well, along with adding a lot of other very good changes and additions to the game. I highly recommend it.

    Clearly has his priorities straight.

Middle Earth Enhanced contains the lore submod, and adds some nice stuff to the game without actually changing the game too much. If you like the way vanilla plays but want something extra, that's the one to go with. If you want a total overhaul and re-balancing, go with RR/RC.

I tend to agree with Yarrum. And if you want more factions in the game, go with divide and conquer

    -Looting script by Germanicu5
-many other small tweaks - have been working on this update for a few months on and off and haven't kept track of all changes
-optional 'Limited Activities' campaign scripts by Germanicu5 that restrict orders for recruitment and building to settlements with resident generals, otherwise AI runs the settlement - this works very well in SS to increase the challenge

so go for 'Middle Earth Enhanced' - there you have 'Middle Earth Lore' submod and a few other mods/tweaks in one package - than also install RR/RC - both working together without CTDs.

I'd go with MEE, personally (my opinion) I am not a fan of RRRC.
