Default Stuttering and slowdown on the map

Sometimes, when on the campaign map, the game freezes for a while, or stutters a lot. I notice this in vanilla as well as with Darth Mod. What's the best way to sort this out - upgrade RAM to 4gb (cheaper) or upgrade CPU (more expensive, but will have more of an effect. Also, I'd have to change my motherboard to get a completely up to date CPU.)

if you play on high details dont change the computer only change the RAM .. if you are playing on low details then change the computer .. that would be better as it fixes the problem and you will be able to get higher details

I have 4 gigs of Ram and I still get weird slowdown on the Campaign map.

I actually don`t think it`s got anything to do with Ram. I think the game is doing some kind of tracking or calculating on screen as you intially move the mouse about the screen. The fastest way to stop it is to click on a city or unit. I suspect it is a CPU processor issue. I`ll bet people with high power fast processors don`t have much problems.

I still get the lag/unexplained slowdown on campaign map with qx9650 & 8gig ram Think it must be down to the code.

My campaign map often stutters when I have a rake / gentleman / priest selected and try to scroll the map. Whenever I deselect that character and continue scrolling the map , the lag/stuttering disappears.

I`m not sure if you`ve actually read what was written above but I think we made it pretty clear that having more Ram has not made the stutter on the Campaign map any better.

Still get the Ram, since it will help everything overall, but don`t assume it will solve the Campaign map stutter.

Just another thing I've noticed that causes lag is when you have the recruitment tab open in a city then select a stand-alone army, it lags while opening/calculating the reinforcements tab with all those tightly squished troop icons.

i have the impression the game has a little memory leak or s th that makes it seem it has (not an expert)
i noticed if i play for several hours and do a reboot and continue playing, performance is much better again. well i must admit i overclocked my computer and sometimes wonder if it just gets too hot after playing a while and thats why the reboot helps

So, it's the same damn thing that was happening with M2: TW or RTW (one of the two). Come on, CA - sort it out!
