    Default Naval Warfare in RS2

I acutally quite enjoy the naval warfare in Rome, its very satisfying to rule seas, keep your ports safe and blockade thiers

I was wondering if the naval system in RS2 had been changed; perhaps in unit recruitment time, naval unit types or anything intresting like that. I've always thought it would be a good idea for a naval blockade to have serious effects on a port-city and should have more drastic effects. e.g Reducing population, inability to recuit any units, port destroyed maybe?

    Anyway enough rambling!

i think reducing population is too much, but I agree with you to give them more importance:

I.E. blocking will generate an extra income tho the blocking faction

I'm on the other side of the pendulum. I wish there were no boats at all. It drives me bananas to have a perfect economic and military machine going only to get a port blocked by a boat from a faction with only one province; a faction that has no business tangling with the strongest nation in the known world (me). Or their little bireme with 81 men attacks my massive quinrireme with over 200 men just because the AI doesn't know better.

That's more due to AI fail than anything else, which is something that rather can't be helped. Playing with the expansion packs does improve it somewhat - have you tried playing with Alex.exe? Apparently that improves the campaign AI substantially.
