Default Medieval Total War and Ubuntu 10.04

    Hello guys,
I tried to get Medieval working on Ubuntu with Cedega and Wine but I couldn't. Is there a nice way to make it work?
Thank you for your appreciated help

PS: i would also be glad to know if there is a french or portuguese version of the Viking Invasion extension.

    Cheers,
    Chlorhydrikk

MTW and STW refuse to run under Wine, not sure about Cedega as I don't use it, though I'd say not. Cedega is getting less and less important these days as Wine itself continues to improve it's directx implimentation.

I'm afraid your only option to run the game is to dual boot windows, as even a VM won't be of any use to you due to lack of Direct3D. I have managed to get STW running in a VM (running Windows XP) using the software renderer and with DirectDraw and Direct3D both disabled through the dxdiag program. As you can probably imagine it was slow and looked terrible.

The only TW game that I have successfuly run under the latest wine is RTW. That does work, though not perfectly, it is very playable. Have not tried M2TW as yet, though looking at the appdb it seems possible. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...ation&iId=4136
