Help adding Imladris Pikemen and Sword/Shield men to Elven roster.

Hey. I read this article : http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=325912
But, I can't understand it. I'm just trying to merge these units from Dea's unit additions into the vanilla TATW 1.4 so that I can play as them. I can't seem to follow the tutorial linked to by the reply in the above posts.

Can anyone help me a little more? Thanks

Well I can try, even though I don't have dea's mod.

First, you download it, and extract it somewhere. Now go to data/text/export_units and look for the in game name of the units.

You should find something like {Thing_That_You_Want}Imladris Pikemen, and {The_Other_Thing_You_Want}Sword/Shield men. Copy both entries (including the _desc lines) to the same file of TATW.
Now go to data/export_descr_units and search for the things you found between {} in the previous file, but without the _'s.
Copy those, and pase them into the TATW export_descr_units, save it. Now look closely at what you pasted, you'll see a line that begins with soldier whatever_model_name.
You go to dea's data/unit_models/battle_models.modeldb, and search for model_names of both units, paste them into TATW's same file AND go to the first line, increase the biggest number by 2 (so if its 1018 you change it to 1020). If they also have upgrade models, you need to increase the number accordingly. So if you pasted 4 entries, 2 for the units and 2 for each one's upgrade, you increase it by 4. Save the file, and look at what you pasted again. You'll see some file paths to a few .mesh files, .texture files and .spr files. You'll have to paste these from Dea's folder with the exact same folder path into the TATW folder.
Now the only thing that's left is the icons, go to data/ui/unit_info and data/ui/units, copy the files that are named like what you found between {} in the text/export_units file, and paste them into the same path of the TATW folder.

To make them recruitable you need to go to export_descr_buildings and copy the capability lines of the barracks that include the units you just added, and paste them into TATW again.

Edit: Gotcha. Finally I can add in units from mods that are no longer compatible with 1.4
