DirectX 8.0? Graphics Card?

Well I just resently reinstalled Army Men RTS, I came across a weird problem I havn't had before. Last time I had it on my PC was just around 4 years ago when I had a Nvida Geforce 5200fx but oddly I have a Nvida Geforce 8 8600fx and it says A Supported DirectX 8.0 compatible graphics card was not found. Game will not start, nor run, yet I have many games which require directX to run on my computer many of which are older, I'm finding this very odd. I'm not sure what to do about it. I've had a few problems with older games ever since I bought this video card but nonthing which involved Direct X.

Your graphics card is too new basically, i dunno if theres a workaround, someone else might have one.

Alas its also nowhere near as funny as "this game requires windows 98 or better" error popping up when your using 7\windows 7 XD

Also its the game not your pc, your graphics card can easily do dx8, the game just cant detect it as capable.

only thing i can think of in way of fixing it is, did you install the direct x runtimes off the disc?(unlikely to help.)

And start playing new games obviously you do on the console but i would advise a new RIG thats if you got the DOSH to spread out.

I play new games, I have Empire Total War and Fallout 3 for pete sakes. I just adore Army Men RTS a lot, I'm annoyed it isn't working. I had a funny list of what my computer had for it's requirements everything as in green but one saying I need 64mb Memory to run the game and your computer has 2gbs Memory and it said I didn't have enough. It was the very last good Army Men game, so GIMMIE HELP! I can't find any fan sites for 3DO games which I can perhaps find help easier.
