    Too expensive
The extra development time will allow us to finalize and polish Empire, making it the most accomplished and epic of the Total War series." said Kieran Brigden, Studio Communications Manager at The Creative Assembly. "There is a great deal of anticipation around Empire: Total War and we want to ensure that it is the benchmark for strategy games upon its release.

A fair price for what you get, and by now most of the mods are compatible and stable with the DLC packs.

The units they released for E:TW weren't just recolours of existing units.

I'm mid-campaign at the moment, without the DLC. If I install it when I get it, will it play havoc with my campaign or should it be safe enough?

I was quite surprised to see CA selling this in Game store for about £15. I never buy off the net (especially DLCs), but I always consider store DLCs as a pack.

Yea, right. If CA had made the effort with ETW that they should have done, I might have bought it. I left it alongside the blue boxes of Napoleon still trying to sell for £20 (used to be £30).

Well this is surprising with regards to this deal:

Bonus DVD including all the art and videos of Empire: Total War and Napoleon: Total War.

Seriously the only DLC I've considered getting is the Units of the West since I don't like how the eastern factions came out in the game. That's like $3.50 I think but I still feel like it's a bit much since some of the units aren't factions that I'll readily play (US- no grand campaign, Spain) so the value isn't there strictly units wise. For £5 though I'd probably bite.

its beyond me how anybody wants to buy unit packs if mods offer new units for free

That's all they do then - add new units? Not worth it then as you said.

Post count is on 1799 now - that's the year Empire ends.
