DLC unit names and descr not showing

Hello,

I have never installed any mod to NTW yet. The other day NTW updated and I bought the new DLC "units of the coalition". For these units, there is neither name nor description ingame, neither in SP nor in MP, neither in the army selection screen nor ingame.

I have validated my game cache multiple times, but that did not help it. Redownloading is not an option, since I only have 500mb traffic per day available. Could I just delete a corresponding .pack file where this data should be in - and then redownload this single file? Where is this file?

Does anyone have an idea how to find a solution?

Delete the scripts folder, then verify your game cache.

No, it did not work.

I have the same problem and it becomes even more annoying as i cant even see my Peninsular campaign DLC units, campaign names or anything. Yes, i did try to re-install NTW.

Have you updated your graphics drivers?

I've got the same problem. Pretty much all the text doesn't appear like character traits, the advisor text, unit description etc etc.

I've removed all my mods, removed scripts folder, downloaded new drivers and verified game cache all of which produce no difference - struggling for ideas on what it could be now

I'm getting pretty much the same type of problems. Advisor text is missing, so are a lot of the unit and building descriptions. Mission information is also missing: I know that I will gain a missionary if I build something, but there is no indication as to what to build or where! Furthermore, I'm sure that I heard, or read, that any territories, won as the UK, would be handed over to either Spain or Portugal, but after taking the first city (Coimbra, I think) there was no option to hand it over, nor any option in the Diplomacy interface to do so. Are these bugs, or another example of CA rushing something out unfinished?

And before you ask: I am not using any mods, and I have verified my cache and am using the latest NVIDIA drivers for my 295's.

Oh c'mon Tony you have to play the game, we here ask the same questions, over and over and that's the point! damn! If you only were not so cute!

Now onto the matters, have you deleted the scripts folder?

how are your other drivers? have you updated those too?

have you used any mods?

How do you get those abs?

And I want candy, can you provide? I like cookies

I have the same problem. The advisor text doesn't come up. More importantly technology names are not showing, and some picture announcements are coming up with no text whatsoever. Would graphics drivers really affect names/descriptions not coming up?

Does the advisor text work for the game itself? If it does then it's the dlc text mangled. If you can login, fill up the Napoleon bug list thread t www.totalwarforums.com.

Problem solved when I deleted the Unit Compatibility Pack mod.

You should download the one thats been updated for the DLC.

Good news everyone! I have fixed this problem on my game by simply deleting the Iberia_loc.pack and Iberia_mod.pack files located in the data folder then verifying the game cache for Napoleon.

Mine now runs perfectly with all the text displayed correctly. Hope this solution can help some of you


PS. If anyone does try this just make sure you save a copy of these files just in case something goes wrong or it doesn't work.

I can't find those files myself, but i'll think i'll go and complain to steam support xD

Are you looking for the scripts folder? Hopefully http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic/69653 helps.

go to steam>steamapps>common>ntw>data

in there you'll find those files

i cant find those files. i got the dlc and whent to the data folder and there not there.
