I've seen that before, it's at least a year old. It could happen though.
It could happen, but not because of the REAL ID act, as the link sugests.
Putting basic ID information like social security number and adress into a national database is very common in lots of countries, and it makes life a LOT simpler, as well as preventing fraud. The rise in identity theft has put many people’s personal information at risk. Now, legislation passed by Congress will create a ripe target for identity thieves by allowing the government to compile your most personal information -- such as your name, address, photo, birth certificate, social security number and perhaps even your DNA -- into a national database. Thousands of government employees will have access to this giant network, dramatically increasing the risk of your personal information being stolen.
The only way things like this can happen is when companies share costumer information, and they don't need a national DB to do that.
I didn't notice this was in the thema devia before...its more of a political discussion really, especially given the video is from the aclu, so moved to the mudpit.

yeah, national identification is important so that only american citizens can enjoy the liberities, but is shouldnt be abused, americans are so wrapped up in thinking that we have freedom of privacy that all the electd officials would be voted out
the future?.....yes...let us look...all the way...to year...2000...
Im more conservative than liberal, but i hate the thought of this kind of information. Trust me, it may be used for good for a while, but it will eventually be used to track people.
