    Default Unit Sizes

    I have a short question:

How do I modify the size of the units represented in battles? Do I have to modify every single unit, or is there some general multipliers I can tweak?

Assuming you're not talking about the small/medium/large/huge settings in the options menu, I think you'd need to go through the EDU and make the amendments unit by unit.

    Unit by unit.
Minimum unit size is 6, highest is 60. So bear that in mind =)

Ugh, crap. I'd hoped to create a really epic battle with phalanxes practically from edge to edge of the map. Just because I accepted a bet, that I could make the new computer a friend just bought lag by using Rome only. Well, back to the drawing board.

I'll try some night battles with full specs and archers-only with flaming ammo.

Best way to get it to lag is to let him play FOE on max settings and all

The thing about Rome is that dual/quad core machines aren't supported thus only one cpu can work on it.

Well, in your preferences folder there should be a preferences.txt.
open that file with Notepad or something else and change the line UNIT_SIZE:160 to a higher number.
That way I could enlarge my phalanx pikemen to 480 per Unit.
But success is not granted..their numbers changed again to the standard size some days later..

I've tried that, but it didn't register in battles. Maybe 1200 was too high

Btw, try playing EB on max... that will certainly lag

To be honest my machine lags on ExRM with settings on medium *sigh* . Anyone fancy giving me a decent machine?

an epic battle(with both full-stack armies) should also do the job. Just set the speed to 3x and the framerate should fall like the wtc..

That could kill my laptop, but it didn't affect his computer. But full stack Cretans, flaming ammo, huge units, night battle and 3x speed should do the trick. I'll try find some tall grass and zoom in on it as well.

How about a 4v4 battle? That's guaranteed to work, escpecially if it is with full stacks

    Whoa. Yeah, that'd do it.

One of these days I'll have to try a battle with max size set to 400. That would be awesome.
