I recently installed the rtr platinum i had all ready installed the patches earlier and then i found rtr so i installed it and now it will open but it won't run the campaign or custom games Any help would be much appreciated.

have you installed the modswitch version?
are you trying to run it on RTW or BI?

I think you have failed to patch the game to 1.5 previously if you can enter the game but you can't choose a campaign or play a custom battle. So to fix your issue, uninstall Rome Total War completely and delete the Activision folder in your Program Files or wherever you installed RTW. Re-Install RTW. Patch it to 1.3 and then patch it to 1.5. THEN install RTR: Platinum 1.9. That should work but if it doesn't, let us know.

i have installed patches 1.3 and 1.5, and I installed the rtr 1.9 and I played the game after installing each one just to make sure they worked (they did), on my desktop I have the following short cuts:

RTR Platinum (I opened it with this one)
RTR Platinum BI
Multi-player Battle Reset
And I am trying to play it on rtw

since i can't get it to work how would i remove it

If you`ve installed the mod switch version you just delete the RTRPE sub-folder. If you have installed the non mod switch version you need to uninstall the game(if you made no backup copy of the folder first).
