Update 1.6 - Audio Problems

Hello,

I have a Empire Total War uptade to 1.6 version throught Steam. My computer is a Intel Core 2 Duo 8400 with 3GB RAM, Windows Vista, Nvidia GForce 9800 GT 512MB DDR3.
After the update, the game started with some noise in Audio (a very boring noise). Therefore, I have put all video and audio configuration on minumum. But, still noise happens.
Hence, I have my directx updated, my video and drivers too. But still have the problem.

Does anyone know something about this ?

Can you explain exactly what this noise sounds like? `Very boring` does not tell us anything. Is it a buzz or a whine or a hissing or something else?

Also what soundcard are you using? Or is it all Onboard sound?

I have not had any problems with the sound and 1.6.

It's kind like a buzz. I am using onboard audio, but I haven't had any problem with it up to now.

have you updated your sounds drivers? you didn't mention them specifically.

Yes, but I will try to unnistall them and install again tonight. After this I will post here the result.

Yes, updated drivers may help, though I always advise a separate sound card as they will also relieve youtr Motherboard of unnescessary work and often add lot more to your audio enjoyment. Most soundcards are quite cheap too these days and should allow you to max your sound settings. I`m surprised you haven`t had problems before to be honest.
