How many Legions do I need to stop the gauls from continuous attacks. I mean they just keep coming and coming distracting me from other things. I fnally had a moments of pce which I used to take all of sicily from Greeks. But the gauls are attacking me again harder then before. I have 5-6 legions up north holding the gauls is that not enough does anyone know exactly how many I should have to secure the borders. thanks

i've always found 5 legions more than adequate to hold the gauls. I have found that they can come in waves though, you'll get a few turns of epic battles then they will leave you alone for a while, before sending what seems like a mass migration.

Also why is it that the AI doesnt care how many leions you have. For example when I set 3 legions some where they attack with 1 army makes no sense obviously they wil lose.

Should I take Greece or Carthage next? If so do i have to worry about hordes of them attacking my borders like the Gauls and German tribes do?

You should expand in to cisalpine gaul except for Patavium??? leave it as it will trigger the germans to attack you. Take nicea and mediolanum and hold it against the gauls don't expand any further. Launch an attack on Iberia it will distract gauls from attacking you in Italy once you have engaged them in Iberia. Send like 6 legions to Spain 3 to take Carthaginian cities and 3 to capture some gaul cities.

Go for Carthage first and try to take some cities on mainland Greece, just take 1 or 2 cities to prevent them to invade Italie by sea. Focus your main attack on Carthage.

The AI goes by your OVERALL Legion count so if you have only 8 legions 6 up north and 2 south the AI will attack still because it has MORE armies than you. BUt if you have 14 Legions with 6 north and the others elsewhere on campaign the AI will think twice, but if you leave the north unguarded and still have 14 they will attack. I hope this helps, but its all averages for the AI

shouldnt imagine so with any positive result or any huge casulty list for your legion, i've found that theosanes is the harder battle i dont know why though.

It's not advised, try fighting the battle a few times you 'l beat him eventually. This is what we all did when we just started playing SPQR.

Because of the mixture of mercenaries probably. Also depends on which legion you use to defeat him.

I kno i've beaten hannibal before, but i kept testing to auto resolve him and i used cheats and it still doesnt work I keep getting crushing defeats. I thought it was something put into the mod on purpose.

Whats so hard about hannibal, just take him on the battlemap. I defeated half his army with a garrison and the rest with a relief force

Hannibal isn't hard, you only need to make sure you are using the right tactic. Right tactics lead to victory, that counts for every battle!!!
