    Default Several questions/issues...

OK, first of all I would like to thank the creators of this mod for the awesome work they have done! (and thanks for ruining my social life...)

anyways, I still have some questions and such

I used to get a lot of CTD's. For some reason it's now better, but it still happens from time to time, and it's usually AFTER a battle, which can be quite annoying
It's not really clear to me when I should use type 3 or 4 government...what are the differences between construction and recruiting? Also, how can you know which local units you will be able to recruit? I'd check the construction tab, but it's not "complete"...(I can't see all the possible future buildings)
Also, a custom battle will show me TONS of different units, mostly mercs, but for some reason not the faction specific units (at least in SPQR case).

I hope someone can give me further information, because I'll say it again, it's an awesome mod, and only say these things in a positive/constructive way

Yeah, the CTD's are a real pain in the . As per the government types, Type 4 simulates the region being autonomous, essentially an ally that you control. It is not under the direct control of your government but will aid your cause. It gives you the most regional units. Type 3 is semi-autonomous region. It gives you slightly fewer regional units and a few factional ones.

For an example I'll use my favorite faction: the Koinon Hellenon. Their Type 4 is called "Allied Polis" or something to that effect. It is a polis that is allied to the Koinon and gives their support to them. Type 3, on the other hand, is a region ruled by a pro-Koinon Tyrant.

Type 4 is good for a fast government because it takes only 1 turn. Use it for regions that cannot recruit your factional units. I don't use Type 3 so IDK exactly when you'd want to use it. For the units, you can try the Recruitment Viewer. It lets you check what units can be recruited by each faction, where they can be recruited, and what type and level of MIC you need.

    Hope that helps.

Against CTD´s it can help to wait some time (around 30 seconds) until you quit the battle results and continue your campaign. Especially with bigger battles.

Well 30 seconds is too much imho... I used to get the CTD, but now i wait for about 10 seconds, and haven't got one in a year

That actually depends on the system you posses. The more RAM you have to smaller is the chance of a memory leak after a battle, and the lesser is the amount of time you have to wait to get no CTD. 30 seconds is the maximum I would advise to wait.

Type 4 is really fast to build - 1 turn, and lets you build the Allied Military complex to its maximum, which is required to get the best allied units(for all factions except the Saba)
Minor nitpick; the level 5 regional MIC is used in Di'amat and Kush to produce elephants. It's only the level 5 factional MIC that is useless for Saba.

type 3 lets you build 1 level of factional barracks(to train factional troops), but not the top allied barracks; that and the longer time you need to build it make it undesirable for me. You are giving up your best allied troops for the most basic homeland ones.

You got it the wrong way around with Saba. They do need the top tier allied MIC (for Bush Elephants and Galatikoi Kleruchoi), but they don't need the top tier factional MIC, since their elite infantry and everything else is available at tier 4. The same goes for Pontos BTW.

edit: somebody else already saw this...

As for the custom battles, you will need to start it through the mylti player option via the trivial script, (if you have it instaled the option should be in your start menu under "Europa Barbarorum"), if not then you will need to edit some files, check the faq thread.
