Default Should I trade settlements with the Mongols

I am England. For strategic purposes, I offered a couple settlements for Alexandria, they are willing to accept after several proposals. I do have some Northern Africa territory and Spain but still too far from the east to really make a splash there.I have territory as east as Marsailles and all of Spain, France, Englad and Denmark.. I usually from time to time get pestered by Milan and Sicily.. Anyway, for the short term should I allow the mongols a couple settlements for Alexandria, or will they likely be on the attack from the start?? Should I rather look to Constantinople for strategic territory instead?

If you get Alexandria they could just take it back from you, the mongols are A-holes.

Well you as England have conquered a bunch of western Europe (which never happened in reality) so why do ya think the mongols would just disappear
They don't go away until you kill 'em all!
But yeah don't try to compromise with them, you'll just lose more territory then you should have.

Don't trade with them? It would make them a lot stronger with a nice settlement. However, on my Venice campaign I am not expanding farther east than Constantinople in order to easily defend and keep the rastern invaders fromattacking me until I take care of Europe and defeat the Russians. However, I did ally with the Mongols.

Mongols are notorious for conquering the east so if you give them a foot hold in the west then i suggest you arrange a back stabbing plan to take the territorys back as soon as you give them while trying to hold onto alexandria. They dont mess around.

Leave it to the modder to perfect the works of the paid developers for no profit at all.

I wouldn't let them near you under any circumstances. I've heard brilliant tales of launching a Mongol city in almost the center of a still largely unconquered Europe and letting the nations duke it out with them, but it has a horrifying ability to backfire. Personally, when they come knocking on my doorstop, depending on what mods you have, I'd suggest quitting whatever feuds you have, if possible, and focus everything on fighting the Mongols. They're always a long hard road.

There is only one rule, prevalent and quite certain in this day of chivalry and kinds, of the musket and sword and coat of arms, that shall always be whether the 'rules of war' may change in civilized man's eyes. This rule is always certain, and is the only one that matters. Survive.

I've heard good things about gifting them cities in Western Europe, and the fools will trek all the way there.

Let me put it this way:

Historically the mongols were an agressive nation who only wanted to conquer SO
In the game (due to AI and whatnot) they will attack you whether you are nice or nasty to them, although it will take plenty of effort and patience I'd say just attack them ans form alliances with other nations.

You can make offers to attack the mongols and some annoyed nations will pay you cash for it, so then you can support an army and make a profit, good start.

Soon if you lead your troops and diplomatic negotiations right, you will get to take and keep BOTH places, rather than have one province or the other to have it taken away again by siege.

When the Mongols come you should put all other wars to the side and focus on building up your castles, building alliances and training an army that can compete with the mongol army. I learnt from experience that fighting the monglos on one front then having to deal another nation was a big pain. I had taken all of france, milan, denmark, papal states were gone from europe but I hadnt invaded spain so with my army I take a few settlements when the mongols come on the otherside of me and I got sandwiched in between

If you are England, you are probably one of the best-suited nations for taking on the Mongols. Just garrison every fort and city with about 8 longbowmen, put down spikes EVERYWHERE their cavalry might charge, and use your heavy infantry and hobilars to finish off their foot archers. If you can coax them into charging through a gate or across a bridge with those spikes, longbowmen, and a couple of Dismounted English Knights and Armored Sergeants in schiltron formation, you can slaughter full stacks in a heartbeat.

This question reminds me of a "stranger danger" question as following, and so does the correct answer....
    Question Time :D
Q: Should I trade cities with untrustworthy hordes-men? A: Hells NO!
Q: "should I go to the mans car and get candy?" A: Hells NO!

With the correct equiptment, and number of armies, onces the Mongols conquer Antioch, and start to spread out, their field armies can be dispatched surprisingly easilly. You need to wait until you get gunpowder, and get access to gunpowder artillery - this allows you to snipe the generals and dramatically reduce their numbers from range.

dont trade, also if you want to destroy the mongols beat them strategically not tactily as long as they dont have a city they can only reinforce via the waves, you have unlimited men they have 20000

How big and dangerous is exactly the Mongol army? I mean that when I was playing as England the Mongols never get to me. But I must admit, they do destroyed France, Venice, and the Holy Roman Empire...
"In stone halls they burn their great fires,
in stone halls they forge their sharp spears.
Whilst I walk alone in the mountains,
with no true companion but tears.
They hunt me with dogs in the daylight,
they hunt me with torches by night."

12 Full armies of elite infantry and Horsemen, which come in 3 waves of 4. They are lead by very powerful generals, and every man who isn't a devastating Heavy Cavalry unit or artillery is a hybrid melee-archer. They are, consequently, very very difficult to rout (even if you fight them down to a mere fraction of the units full strength) unless you kill the general - and he's one bad mo' fo'.

If you're prepared for it, it's manageable - but if you're not, you havn't got a chance.

Yeah, that fierce storm from the east has to be prepared for. I've found if you can get them to attack a good quality stack set up to take on HA and HC armies when you're camped on a mountain side you can rout a few armies at least at the price of crippling or losing that one stack.

The Mongols, A Stupid Nation which destroys anthing in it's path...I was on a crusade when they arrived, But the pope called of the crusade because the target was taken. But whit that crusader army (and it was BIIIIGGG) we exterminated the mongols. So try defend hills with pikes or something, don't really rememb what I did.
