    Default The Deal

Hey guys, just wanted to say sorry for my absence, a lot has been going on lately. First my computer got "The Black Screen of Death" from an update for vista, for which I didn't have the install disk to fix it. I had my dad mail it to me but he forgot my apartment number so it got sent back

Then my cable provider did something stupid and alas, the computer is fixed but no internet

I'm currently in the middle of finals as well, so I guess it is for the better. In any case I should be back online early this next week. Look forward to seeing what's new

Same goes for me. Had a hell of a week, almost no time to do anything but schoolwork. The next few days promise to be a bit more relaxed.

Though I'm entering my final exams so my time the coming weeks will be limited, but I'll do what I can

Yelp, it has been the same deal with me too. Loads of work at work, and loads of work at home...

    Sorry for being gone.

What needs attention right now as far as testing?

Tone has been wanting some testers to get as far as the Roman rebellion...reckon you can get there and let us know what happens?

Sure, I'm assuming you're referring to the rebellion after taking 60 regions or so, is that right?

In my campagin I'm still wrestling Italy away from Carthage and the 'early' rebels.

Might be a while in getting to the 'big' rebellion. Unless of course, I run across an uploaded save.

What about cheating to get there quicker.
I don't really like it, but if you use the one to autowin the battles, you would have a situation rather similar to a normal campaign, but be able to expand faster.

But that ruins the balance of the game. Need to see how a player will actually cope, how many armies he can sustain, how the regions cope and what happens to the other factions. Cheating just screws around with all of that...

well i have played 2 campaigns to the rebellion ( 1 on old rome folder and another just before the big map update, aswell as the tightning of the roman ecomic belt(which tbh i still only partially agree with as by the time you have 60 provinces and many legions to keep the peace aswell as expand/retake your lost provinces you are on a very tight budget, and that was on the older economic system, thats why i fear for when i reach the same part in a campaign this time around

Well, when you get to 50 regions, could you upload a save game so that more players can have a go with the rebellion?

i would just my current roman campaign is non-existant as RL has been a bit of recently in that i have not had that much time to play, plus with all the changes going down i felt why bother to replay the same begining situation over and over again, with no meaningful testing or feed back about the rebellions coming from it

Hey guys, I'm back and got everything setup and working well (for now). I'm back in my home town to TA at my local high school as req. for an online summer class, basically I'm going back to high school. I should still have a fair amount of time to test though, and my hopes are that I'll reach the rebellion!

That's true, but if you only use the cheat to auto_win, you still got losses when fighting, and if you do it correctly, I mean not using single units, you're at an advantage, but not that much.
I was thinking of it to go to something like 50-60 provinces, then play "normal" and upload a save game for everyone to test the rebellion. Even if the balance of the campaign is not really right (although I think by the time you've gained the 10 or so provinces still needed for the rebellion, things even up), we could at least check that everything is working, which we're aren't even sure.
If one person is doing it, while other people use the "normal" way, I think it could speed up things. I don't know how much time people will need to reach the rebellion, but at least two weeks seems possible.

    Hi guys,

I too must apologize for my extended absence, RL has this awful habit of getting in the way of what's really important; RS2
Though I was gone for a long time, it in no way diminished my enthusiasm and appreciation of this wonderful game, mod and community and I hope (once I have played some serious catch up ) to once again in some small way contribute.

    Glad to be back!
May You Rest In Peace Calvin
