    Default Crash

I am playing EB 1.2 and I am getting random crashes for some reason, sometimes is when I start the game, other times is when I enter a battle or load a save game, the occurrences are pretty random since sometimes I can play several battles without a single crash.
I am not using any other mod besides EB and I doubt it's due to memory since I have a pretty good pc who can handle games way more demanding than this.

Sorry about the double post but it seems another error unrelated(at least i think) to the one above is occurring.
I am in the summer of 249 BC playing with the Romani, whenever I end the turn the game crashes, I have all fixes installed
Here is the save of the turn:http://www.axifile.com?3564168
Also attached there is the validation check of my installation.

    Hello Soulstrider,

    answering your first post:
Is the right version (1.2) being showed in the EB main-menu? Are the fixes for 1.2 applied? You said you don't have sub-mods installed but did you alter any files at your own? Seeing your validation result, you have BI installed. Are you using EB on BI? If it crashes after the ending of a battle, waiting for 20-30 seconds before switching back to the campaign map can help.

    answering your second post:
I'll check your save-game as soon as I have access to my machine with EB, so long you can see if the hints and guides mentioned in the frequent encountered issues (section 'Crash Recovery') are helping you to get around your current problem.

    First post:
Yes it's the right version, the fixes are applied and I didn't mess with any files, I am using Roman total war gold from steam and always lunching from RTW and not BI.The crash always occurred to me BEFORE the battle.

    Second post:
I have already checked that thread, perhaps it is because there is a city about the revolt, unfortunately I don't have any previous save game and since I use Vista I can't use the console to fix that (and for some reason the console fixes in the thread aren't working for me), I would appreciate it you could check the saves and if the rebellion is the issue, solve it.
Also is the rebellion crash frequent? At least in Vanilla rtw there were plenty of rebellions, and it would suck the game crashing whenever one occurs

This sounds like the same problem I got. Just crashes sometimes cause it wants to.

I got Steam and Rome Total War also. I think the problem lies mostly with Steam and where our programs are installed.

IIRC you can order Steam where to put it's files, but I honestly don't know if you can move it afterwards.

The problem with installing it in Program Files under Vista/Win7 is that the UAC sometimes don't let you to overwrite files. So maybe your fixes aren't applied even if you moved them there. Disabling the UAC for this procedure should handle the problem.

Same goes for the workaround to get the console working. Starting your notepad-program with administrator rights will maybe help you.

    I'll check your save, promised.

I've fixed your rebellion in Syrakousai, the rest of the map is undangered. Works at my build now, so here is the file:

The problem with public order was mostly due to bad traits on your FM's, check carefully which you let govern cities.

Thank you very much, I really appreciated your help.

So whenever there is a rebellion even in other Nations, is there a 100% chance of the game crashing ?

Edit: And it seems the first problem still persists

Due to the heavy scripting in EB, the RTW core engine can sometimes not 'understand' what it must do if a settlement rebels, so it crashes. This occurs also in vanilla RTW but more rarely.

If your CTD's are purely random and not repeatable, I fear there is few I can do from here. Your validation looks fine, maybe it interferes with UAC from Windows. Do you start RTW with administrator-rights?

No, since I use steam and steam hasn't that option.

Maybe you try to run Steam with administrator-rights?
I don't use Steam for games with mods, so I've nearly no experience in that particular area.
