Campaign battle crashing after starting deployment

I purchased Medieval II Total War and Kingdoms from Steam. I'm playing the RC/RR submod, and every time I initiate a battle and click on start deployment, the game crashes, and I get : Medieval II has encounter an unspecified error. I just recently installed the game, so I don't think reinstalling is going to help. I've also tried defragging and turning off my internet security, neither of which did anything. I have included the three log files that I found in my log folder as attachments.

This crash does not happen all the time, but it is happening very frequently right now.
