    Default Hordes ^__^

    Just a quick question to the clever people around here

    How do you stop a messageless CTD when a horde faction sacks a settlement?

    To prevent any confusion - it's for ExRM. I've managed to get the other horde features working, like the become horde button and other bits and bobs, it's just whenever myself (the player) or the computer sacks a settlement it just doesn't work. For the record, it's for the Galatians and they aren't an emergent faction like you have for Macedon in FOE - therefore I don't think it has anything to do with them not being named slavs.


    Would it be better to take my question to the more technical whatever forums?

    Well, I don't have much experience of hordes, but it definitely worked in Vanilla. Is the settlement in question Nikomedia, by any chance? I remember some strange things there...

    No no, it's any settlement. Scodra, Tylis, Pella, Bylazora... Occupy works fine though. I'm not at all sure what to do about it. It's strictly the sack settlement option. Either I've copied something incorrectly, or the tutorial on TWC wiki is wrong and/or missed something out.

    By any chances are there units linked to spawn when a settlement is sacked by a hording faction? I'm not much of a modder but I think you need to have "special" units to spawn when a settlement rebels if you don't it CTDs . I guess the game doesn't know what to create.

    I've identified that as a possible cause. I'll wait until Quinn Inuit gets back to me about it before I try and solve it though.

    Sacking works now. The problem, though, is that it messes up some of the messages that pop up down the side and the tips you get from the advisor. I'll have to much about to sort that out. But the main thing is that I've got the sack mechanism working.

    Click on the little globe with a chain underneath it. On the advanced reply screen it should be underneath that smiley face. When it pops up you just insert the URL where it says... URL... funnily enough.
