I would be, but sadly, finals are taking up my time and then after I'm going away for Winter Break, and I wouldn't want to impede the game. If there's still an opening after Christmas, I'll see what I can do.

Hey Guys! I am new to the forum, and I have never played a game on the forum here, so I don't want to try and start one myself being unfamiliar with the rules and such, but I wondered if anybody would be willing to begin a M2TW game on either the Teutonic map or with the retrofit mod. It looks to all appearances that this part of the forum has been largely abandoned for a few years, but I wonder if anybody is still interested in doing it. Let me know!

We need a player for Egypt here, Stainless Steel 6.4 - This is the mod we veterans prefer, not for players brand new to hotseating but it is the best place to learn how to rock. It is the strongest faction, in the best position. It is only turn 6, the middle east has been united under their banner and war with the rising but weak Eastern Roman Empire has just broken out.

Venice is also open in that hotseat, a powerful faction but in a mediocre position - they will be hard. But trial by fire is the fast lane to learning the art of total war.

Present Situation
Almost forty years have passed since the Duchy of Milan and the Republic of Venice agreed on the shaky peace of Lodi.
Now, with the invasion of the French king Charles VIII, This phase of prosperity seems to end with a hammers blow.
Doubtful claims on Naples and the Duchy of Milan have led him and his many soldiers to march on the peninsula.
But he is not the only one who casts covetous eyes on the richness of Italy.
Although the Republic of Venice loses ground against the Ottomans in the Aegean Sea, they gain new possessions inland but only at the expense of the emperor in the north.
The Emporor seems concerned only with securing his Burgundian inheritance, but now must also march to the south, if he wants to preserve the imperial authority.
At the other end of the boot, Sicily and large parts of southern Italy are under Spanish rule, which competes with the corrupt popes for power and land.
Located in the midst of this misery sits The Duke of Milan, it seems that his opponents are too strong, and his only hope may lie with the dreaded Swiss mercenaries. But they seem to have their own plans and won't miss their chance to prove their power. Perhaps the Duke would be wise to look to old enemies as possible new allies, as it may be his only hope of holding on to any scrap of power let alone expanding his rule.
On the edge of ruin is the Hungarian Kingdom which arms itself against the coming onslaught of the Ottomans and strive to regain their former power.
Florence a self-governed, independent city-state shines like a beacon of freedom. Twelve artist guilds that regulate trade are the basis of Florence's commercial success. Because of its strong economy and a political philosophy that was dedicated to the welfare of the city, Florence now thrives and stands in a unique position, neutral with most Florence may be forced to choose a side before the choice is made for them.
Established in 1488 at the behest of Emperor Frederick III of Habsburg, The Swabian League cooperated towards the keeping of the imperial peace and combating the revolutionary threat from the south in the form of the Swiss. The league is currently governed by a federal council of three colleges of princes, cities, and knights calling upon an army of 13,000 men when needed.

I'm new to hotseats but have played Med2 and RTW campaigns for many years.
I don't expect to win or even do well but I would like to get started as it looks like fun (based on the LegendofTotalWar hotseat videos).

Right now there aren't many factions available in the hotseats here, you can see some available factions in the lastest posts in this thread and by checking each hotseat thread. There is a hotseat using some Elder Scrolls mod which may start soon, otherwise you can check the Westeros and Third Age subforums for hotseats with these mods
