hello,
dlv is very complex. perfect for roleplaying or hard total war (with some scripts).
try to read the manual. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=108625 it introduce you into most features.
i like the detailed characterfeatures like civilwar if your new king is not crowned in the capital a.s.o.
hmm rebels seem to be a problem .... is there any way to delete the starting rebels scripts without destabilizing the mod ? im not such a great player
You need them or you'll have to attack another faction to earn points -You'll get wasted if you try doing that too early![]()
but why are they more advanced than my own army ? rebels in that time were alot weaker than knights because the knights and bowmen recieved a very well and long training
Play BB2.7, the DLV campaign, I fixed most of that.

i have a question regarding the options at the start of the campaign , do they affect the AI nations as well ( like the population recruitment restrections ) ?
No, that would break the game.
We can't add features the AI isn't designed to handle to AI factions.
A partial exception is the Points System. What the player unlocks also becomes unlocked for the AI.
This means the AI cannot leave the player behind in development (Which it usually would otherwise). It also means the player should be gaining points only as quick as they can make use of the advancements.
Also my unit balancing system is designed with that in mind. Most early units will get ripped to pieces by most later units. So if you let the AI get ahead of you by unlocking buildings you cannot build yet for financial or other reasons, then you face potentially severe problems in terms of coping with the AI's armies.

oh yes!!: for example the moneyscripts are only for ai, to help them
and no: such as recruitmentlimitation, pointsystem, costs for buildings and armys
well im only a little better than the AI , broken crescent was too hard for me so im searching for something easy
also , how do i know if 6.2 is installed correctly ?

The solution is in the first post.
If you're searching for an easier game than BC, I suggest you play SS, KGCM or TA:TW.
DLV tends to appeal to players that want more of a challenge.

Garudamon,
Good luck with your early experiences with DLV.
Very much consider DLV 6.2 + BB (Taiji's BB latest version)
DLV'll leave you buckled and bent (but still with a smile on your face).

I could probably write you an essay, but some one already have done it here. For the first campaign, I would have declined all the exra pop-up's. This way you get used to the BB Battle Engine which is under the DLV hood and it's DLV AI Campaign Rabbit (think Holy Grail: Killer bunny). So to sum up, decline all extra events, play on vh/vh, standard relations and play Civil_Total war script (last one I think).
Good luck, as you progress and get familiar with the crowning, the endurence of the armys and RPG ranks of your favourite general -- you may want to add the economic building and unit costs on your next campaign. etc.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

DLV 6.2 + BB 2.7 (all scripts enabled, except cavalry-recruitment) is definately by far the hardest mod I've ever played! So I would also suggest Stainless Steel, until you get bored of that.. Or you can do as Sivilombudsmannen says..
@Sivilombudsmannen: What is the Civil-war-script you are talking about? I've never encountered that, or so it would seem..
@Taiji: I did find the rebel armies quite strong to battle with my French town militias in the beginning.. After some difficult (read lucky, bordering an exploit) turns I managed to recruit some better units, and then it's definately easier, but still no walk in the park.. Again, I love it!
^ You know the pop-up on the first turn. Total War or Civil options? Total war being every one figths from turn 1, while the Civil script give you a 20-40 turns peace time before the AI slowly creep in on your turf.![]()
