    Default Overflowing Enemy Armies.

Woah, jesus good lord is it just my Campaign or does the AI have like 8841283128321 gold in their pots?

I've noticed it just now when I tried to invade Moria as the Dwarves and they have like 5 stacks of Armies waiting there for me like woah.. I'm at turn 104 by the way and I was just wondering is it supposed to do that? I mean I've almost conquered all of the Misty Mountains and I'm pretty sure they don't have that much settlements to finance that much big of an Army.

The AI gets financial bonus because it can't handle the economy.

The a.i gets several bonus troops, as well as a garrison script and bonus money.

The AI should also get a boot up its butt on a regular basis, so at least it keeps things interesting, ay?! Garrison scripts can be annoying, but overall I feel the biases add a lot to the game!

    Happy endless battering!

Even thou its been discussed a dozen times...
There is no real solution for that problem.
I ve played dozens of mods and everyone without a money- or garnisionscript gets absolute boring in no time if you a half-way experienced TW player.

It annoys me as well from time to time, everytime again, for it makes many tactical options the game offers useless, but the AI is dumbshit and will stay dumbshit.
Even thou there are some good submods which enchant the Battle-AI, afaik the Campaign AI still FUBAR.
May the earth be light upon you, lest the dogs can dig you out more easy.

That's what makes TATW so mothering sweet!

In previous installments of TW, vh/vh only mean it was going to take me a little longer to overtake Europe, but in this mod with all the added scripts, bonuses and events, you are truly fighting for your life.

Nothing will get you more pumped than defending a bridge againts an army 3 times your size only to realize they were the vanguard and the real bullk of the invasion is two turns away.

My only real issue is that I eventually run out of men, even with a kill-death ratio of 30-50 to 1, with 100000000 florins in my bank account but no swords to spend them on

I know what you mean. In TW2 I used to purchase extra units in cities that had no need to be defended and I stop doing that because down the road it lead to inflation/recession. But that little habit is making a comeback in this game, because I need to constantly have fresh units every turn, even thought in TATW vh their life expectancy is about 3 turns due to the endless stacks, but this also raises another issue.

Constant recruting of armies would indirectly tax my treasury, money that I could be investing on trade and civil buildings. In this case my land would be defended but there would be little progress. All it would take is the invasion of a third party to tilt my economy and military into disarray.

So yeah, either way we are ed.

The AI is specially impressive in TATW, regarding the size of it's armies compared to their economy. Doesn't it reduce options to have to use exploits systematically ? Beating Gondor as Mordor on VH/VH without using a single river crossing is a mighty feat...

If I had the time, I would try it. Amushes are allowed, I hope?

Ambushes/'trapped' city or castle entries/river crossings (do I forget any other cheesy bit ?) are all situations were the AI seems not to be able to react properly (or even at all). So all of those situations can be considered direct exploits. I only gave the river crossing example because you can't have played this game and not once have seen an AI try to cross a river with a full stack. (which is hilarious, methinks)

It's maybe doable by concentrating all nazguls in one stack, and trying to go straight to Minas. Good luck Jim, this mission...

I actually never really encountered the phenomenom of stack spamm when I invaded Mordor. Yes the have always 3-5 full stacks standing arround but after you beat those in 1-3 turns they have nothing serious left.

That's a good thing. (Not that I've lost any campaign yet, but perhaps I'm just to skilled. Or play to short campaigns )
