    Default Dragon skins

I am in immediate need of textures that would be suitable for various sorts of dragons. Serpent skin and scales for underneath of different types and colors to be specific, but I will take anything you think would be suitable.

I also need skins for other things if you are interest in helping: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=355651

I don't want anyone to "arse" me to do anything!

I probably have a much better chance of finding ideal skins if I have other people helping me, which clearly you are not.

Hi, I can't be bothered by positivity, so I'm gonna go the route of Negative Nancy.

Wouldn't it be nice to show courtesy to the one guy who seems to be interested in tackling all the crazy creepy crawlers that are part of Tolkien's world, but no one wants to touch? Guess not, because he asked for some help instead of doing it alone.

    Shame.
    (-rep if I could.)

At least he modelled it. That`s more work than skinning.

For Smaug's skin you'd need golden red scales. For other dragons you could use anything.

I'm sorry. That was rude of me.

This and this should be able to help you.

I haven't even begun to search for myself yet, but I was hoping you peoples could help me out. It is no fun, so I don't want to do it
This isn't a very encouraging comment to make, when you're looking for help.

well the Team from the Call of Warhammer mod created some scaley creatures if my memory serves me correctly, maybe if you ask them nicely they'll let you use some of them?

    EDIT:
actually scratch that, i couldnt see anything in the unit previews that would suit your needs, they have some scaley creatures, but none suitable for a drgon i dont think,

    these might be handy though

Man, you guys are dicks... maybe I will do all the work and just keep it for myself. Doesn't really matter to me. It'll save me the 30 minutes to upload it.

Anyway, what do you think of his smile?

    A good question, that.

@OP, It looks very well modeled, but do be careful with the poly count. Full cones for small details like teeth inflate the poly count without much added value. Consider having the teeth either simply be textured on the model, or at least reducing them to single polygon planes. In-game, the detail lost will be minimized and the performance gained will be significant.

Please don't. It will also save you a lot of reputation (but I don't think that's correct English? Have some anyway, it looks great so far! ). If I could help you, I would, but unfortunately I suck in everything related to 2D art. But if there's any coding you need help with, I would be glad to help you out. Even if I'll have to teach myself how to do it.

Edit: perhaps you could ask for help here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=364?

Perhaps a few lore-fanatics could find a description of Smaug? I'm sure there is one in The Hobbit, but my brother is reading it and he's sleeping, so I can't reach the book right now.

    Lore-fanatic, at your service.

There he lay, a vast red-golden dragon, fast asleep; a thrumming came from his jaws and nostrils, and wisps of smoke, but his fires were low in slumber. Beneath him, under all his limbs and his huge coiled tail, and about him on all sides stretching away across the unseen floors, lay countless piles of precious things, gold wrought and unwrought, gems and jewels, and silver red-stained in the ruddy light.

Smaug lay, with wings folded like an immeasurable bat, turned partly on one side, so that the hobbit could see his underparts and his long pale belly crusted with gems and fragments of gold from his long lying on his costly bed.

And in the words of Smaug himself:

'My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death! ... I am armoured above and below with iron scales and hard gems. No blade can pierce me.'
