Default 10 minute turn for OE?

For some reason when it gets to the turn of the Ottoman empire It takes about 10 minutes for their move?
I'm running the latest version on steam and the latest DUC (patched). I've tried defragging and veryfying cache via steam, but no luck. What's strange is they dont seem to physically move anything, the watch just spins for about 10 mins before the next turn of whomever?

I'm guessing a reinstall might be wise, but I'd like to keep the Empire updates if possible (wherever these are located)?

    Win 7X64
    Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.6
    2 x 9800GT SLI
    4GB OCZ Gold DDRII 800
    Samsung HD103UJ 1TB SATA

The steam version (is that what vanilla means?) wont run now for some reason, its just CTD's at loading screen after 'continue campaign'. I'm guessing this is down to DUC mod being installed.

Ottomans havuing 10 minute turns is nothing new.

Disable the DUC and try a new campaign. If it works, odds are it's an old copy of the mod.

Wow, I thought it was bug. I have time for a fag, cup of tea and a cheeese toastie whilst they move?

So is the game scuppered then, I'd like to keep the save file and reinstall if possible?

The game is not the problem. Bad saves are a problem since before Rome and will not be fixed as we would want them. The game has some bugs yet.

Reinstall won't help in most cases. Verify your game cache when suspicious something has gone wrong, keep it defragged, and keep a real close eye on your mods. Some mods do conflict with each other.
