    Default Ptolemies Questions

After I finish my Egypt campaign on vanilla I want to a Ptolemies campaign with XGM. I have the following questions...

    1. Are Ptolemies considered a "Auxillary dependent" faction like Carthage? In other words, do they depend heavily on the quality of Aux. troops from various regions rather than their standard roster?

    2. The chariots were overpowered, but do the Ptolemies get any good units to make up for the loss of them and Pharoah's Bowmen?

    3. Is it feasible to conquer the entire Mundus Magnus map in XGM, or should I just focus on achieving the regular "win" condition? With Vanilla I often played after hitting the "win" condition to literally conquer the entire world.

its possible to conquer the entire map and you have never truly won the campaign until you do
"I, Pinkie Pie, declare that these treats are fit for a king, or a queen, or a princess!"
"Me? Ruin? I'm not the ruiner, I'm the ruinee! Or is it ruinness? Ruinette?"
"She's ahead of the litter all right. The pick of the litter. The cat's pajamas. Oh wait. Why would Applejack take some poor kitty's pj's? That's not very sporting of her."
"More balloons! No, that's too many balloons. More candy! No, less candy. Ooh! I know! Streamers!"
"Oh my gosh. Hold on to your hooves – I am just about to be brilliant!"

Its possible to conquer the whole map, but very time consuming. And yes, the Ptolemies are largely auxiliary dependent. Maybe not quite to the same extent as Carthage. They do have good local auxiliaries. Their final teir units are good, but not better than everyone elses.

the ptolemies have troops quite similar to the greek factions, although they don't have thuerophoroi nor thoraktai and their phalanxes are weaker than the greek ones. you could use nubian bowmen as a replacement for pharaoh's bowmen, but they don't have much armor. nubian cavalry is a fine light cavalry, use them to shower the slow selucid phalanxes(TSE's late phalanxes r somewhat tougher to kill).
