    Default Video Editing Software help

Before anyone says it, my thread is different to the other one here in that I'm not looking for a free one.

So yeah, as the title states I've been looking around for video editing software now that I can afford them now but since I've gone into now I have no idea which is best.

    So yeah, recommendations please

    Thanks in advance!

    Sony Vegas 9 Ultimate/Platinum.
    Pinnacle Studio 12/13

    They are the best.

Sony Vegas has so many things im yet to find everything and i have had it for atleast 7 months now and its so enjoyable makes it easy as pie.

+ Side to this software is if your serious about your videos and want to make them stand out Sony Vegas is the way to go.

The main reason i like it is because my videos on fraps end up being over 24GB in size when im done recording with Sony Vegas I can shrink that same file down to 600MB and have it in FULL HD 1080P I think that's amazing obviously I played around with it to get quality Sony Vegas is hard to use its like learning to drive a car for the first time it takes time to consume the study of the software and use it to its full potential.

Yeah I'd go with one of the Sony Vegas options. I think Vegas Movie Studio is about $200AUD

I'm willing to spend up to £400.

And I hate Windows Movie Maker. It was hard enough trying to cut down small Empire vids to make them work...

No, I wasn't going to spend all of it. What I meant was, I have £400 which can be used in part to pay for it. I didn't mean spending it all.

    Any good?

Oh yeah, another thing. I have FRAPS on the PC (the full version). Is there a better way to capture video on computers internally, cause FRAPS seems to lag like mad if I go above medium settings.

    Thanks!

youll lag with any video recorder on high settings if your computer isnt good enough, like i cant record ETW in most cases because of the severe FPS drop i get with xfire and fraps

I use Sony Vegas 9 Professional. I've made many many TW vids, and I haven't even scratched the surface of the power of that program.

Well, it is...kindof. To use it to its full extent, would be, which I do not. However, it does not take long to do basic things, and it is stable as hell (MovieMaker is one of the most temperamental programs I've ever used...lots of crashes and freezing). Vegas doesn't LOOK user friendly like MovieMaker, but it really isn't that bad. There is alot of very good Youtube material to help beginners...I watched them extensively. I am a total idiot when it comes to software like this...so if I can pick it up, anyone can.

Might want to check Premiere Elements. Its actually a lot better for editing videos than Photoshop elements is for photos.
