Fatal Error: Failed to load platform modules

hi there,

im having a hard time starting steam.
when i click on the desktop icon, the small connecting window pops up.
but after a few seconds ich get:

Fatal Error: Failed to load platform modules

ive never had problems using steam so far, but now, after i had an update today it doesnt work anymore and i cant play my games...

can anyone help me?

install steam again it has updated twice this week, maybe you didn't or the download got corrupted it happens

wait... would that mean i have to install all my steam games again?

I had that error yesterday. I solved it by deleting "clientregistry.blob" in the steam folder. After done that, steam did a new update.

to install it over you'll not lose your game, if you uninstall you'll lose, try the registry blob thing, but installing is more tiddy

i deleted the file and it did a new update and everything works now for me.
