This is a woven wall decoration in the Skog church in Sweden. It's refered to as "the three kings of the north", and is from late 12th century/early 13th, which makes it contemporary for the mod. It is supposed to picture Three kings of Scandinavia, or the gods Odin, thor and Frey. Maybe something to look at wyhen you design the king and the heir for the scandinavian factions?

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to
    (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks.
