There is a Mameluk faction in N:TW, as well as several kinds of units.
Still playing Napoleon:TW
But where are the Mamelukes of the Imperial Guard?
OK they were only one squadron - but they saw a lot more action than the Seamen of the Guard who we did get...
Agreed. I always wondered what was missing at Austerlitz...
I'm fairly sure there are actually Mamelukes at Austerlitz. France has 2 units with 4 chevrons iirc.
The mamluk faction in the Egypt campaign has some mamluk cavalry but it seems CA forgot to make them recruitable for that particular faction (very sloppy i know) and niether can the ottomans recruit mamluks which is a mistake also. The mamluks actually look a lot better than the pitiful effort in Empire though.
Its weird how nthe mamluks are in freezing cold Weather?
Moved to the Gameplay and Strategy forum.
PM me with any questions.
The Mamelukes in NTW are deadly light cav units in Egyptian campaign. They have the stats as heavy cavalry while retain the fast speed. But because of the stupid AI behaviour of suicide cav charges (The AI handles infantry much more better than cavalry), I don't find them as a threat.
In the historical battle of Austerlitz (fought on December 2 in Moravia, hence the snowy terrain) the Mameluke cavalry of the French Imperial Guard participated in one of the most celebrated cavalry actions in the Napoleonic wars: the battle between the French and Russian guard cavalry.
However, I think that CA should add Grenadier a Cheval and Guard Chasseurs in Austerlitz, because they were presented in the battle with way more numbers than the Mamelukes.
As Ottomans you can't recruit them in MP and SP battles, which is a shame cause the Ottomans have so awesome lancers but their sword cav are weaker than most faction except Portugal.
