I fancy playing an evil faction after i finish my SE campaign. They seem an interesting faction to play and they have some decent infantry.
Any good tips for playing them.

Grab as much rebels as possible and try to not fight Rohan in the open.
Tips for Isengard?
First the rebel settlements...
wait for at least Uruk-Hai raiders....
Build up your economy... build mines in Isengard, it is very important to do so!!
train masses of troops. so you can swarm over Rohan.... use your huge amounts of troops, maybe you also want use some of your troops as baits in the open (they will charge with their cavalry against them, then just surround them, they s*ck in close combat)
attack Rohan
I did this, 7-9 turns after starting the war, and Rohan was gone
Turn was around 50
oh, you may request an invasion on Edoras, when Sauron "reveals" himself, so there will be full stacks to help you. (but don't let them take the settlement)
I can play with every faction and with good outcome, only difference is Rohan, their economy just s*cks.... I just can't survive with them....

I' m looking for tips concerning Isengard too, for the same reasons. Maybe the most attractive evil faction : powerful armies, close ennemies, and not too many cities to manage, at the beginning)
With High elves or Eriador, I saw that Isengard took all the rebel cities, but when I try myself I can't attack all the cities at the same time. I suppose the AI cheats. Could you confirm ?
At the start, the best units in my opinion are the dunland units. Combined with snagas they can be pretty effective against Rohans militia.
Try to get a good balance between taking rebel settlements and attacking Rohan but attack Rohan early on to stop them getting too powerful, though if i recall all of the nearest settlements generate a garrison script. In my first Isengard campaign i went straight for the Hornburg so i could dominate the Gap from north and south, whilst denying Rohan of a fortress!
Late game the Uruks are awesome and Rohans heavy cav won't bother the Uruk-hai pikeman.
A major drawback for Isengard is a lack of cav. Wargs are ok for mopping up fleeing prisoners imo but too slow and ineffective for much else.
there are key rebel settlements that the AI is set to conquer, if the players plays the faction, those settlements get a rebel army to spawn near it, and garrison it.
If its the AI the rebel city has no garrison, and the AI gets it for free, if its human players, rebel army takes it... easy as that, its a way to compensate I guess ^^
Don't rely too much on a given unit, even uruks, in a toe to toe match with elite infantry (gondor/elves/dwarves/any others ?). I've always found them to be a disapointment in such situations.
Ten times more numerous, by night and backstabbing.

The Rohan voice that people seem to dislike is the "Archers of Rohan!" or "Bowmen of Rohan!" or "Riddermark Scouts!" ones... and so on. The phrasing is good, even the tone of the voice is good, it's the inflection in the recording, the sing-song effect. It's... inappropriate (is the most polite word I can think of to use). The guy reminds me of a gung-ho college jock about to go kick some butt on the football field...
I give the TATW team 10/10 for using new voice recordings or changing some of the vanilla ones - some are great, like the dwarven accents and the orcs (except when the dwarves accidentally refer to themselves as 'Scotland') so hats off for the good effort, it was just let down a wee bit in the voice acting.
