    Default Generals, traits, alliances.

So, I love this mod! It's really awesome and I enjoy playing Templars. But, but...

Is there any mod to make alliances more like alliances, not a band of backstabbers? Outstanding relations + an alliance should guarrante that I won't get backstabbed.

    And few things...

-General traits. They always get so many bad traits so soon. Especially bad with my Grand Master. Severe and ascetic, but still has a PROSTITUTE. Goddamn ascete with a prostitute! It makes no sense.

...Besides, why is a prostitute scaring off his minions? Is she a godzilla or what?

-In this mod faction with Outstanding relations with you and an alliance is much more likely to attack you than neutral faction with Abysmal.

Seriously, this makes no sense! Alliance should be an alliance. Allies break your "heart" more than in normal Medieval!

If you would please....which version of SS and sub-mods you are playing please....and the settings as well...

Well playing as the Templars SS6.2 plain, M/M The Turks were my fervent and stalwart ally to their dying breath...So I can attest that alliances can last in this game.

And difficulty settings and opportunity probably had a hand in this....

I play VH/VH, of course. No mods.

I have asked for a mod that makes an alliance on VH a real alliance, not an interface mod.

Thanks anyway I guess, this one looks very good...

Hi, if you would like to make alliances that last, you should probably use SS6.1, i play byzantines and have a very good alliance with the venetians for almost 50 turns now, and hungary is my vassal (i'm allied with poland and it didn't attack hungary for now). this is an awesome mod.

You could also play RR/RC. I rarely seem to get backstabbed in it. Of course, the AI always side with each other but hey, otherwise it would be way too easy.

If you just play as if all your neighbors are your enemies it is easier. Make alliances with your neighbors, neighbors and then when you get border with those guys, repeat with their neighbors.

Only time I've had successful alliance with neighbor is when they are tiny and my empire already huge, and when it was a neighbors, neighbor and before I got to share border we had an alliance for 30+ turns AND I give them a territory or 2 for shared military access.

I remember 1 campaign as Venice where I went on a rampage and gained several Fatimid, Hungary, and Turks provinces, then gave them all to Byzantines for peace. 2 turns later Byzantines declare war again with much larger armies this time. Certain AI are coded to hate other AI I think. Look at the start menu and whatever faction an AI is supposed to wipe out... in most campaigns those AI factions usually do turn out to be your most determined enemies.
