Default Moving young generals for eduacation

    Hello.
I really enjoy ss and Im playing 6.2 rc4 with no other mods apart from Germanicus (I think) battle AI.

One thing that really frustrates me is that when I get a new general ready for eduacation he is unable to move to where I would want him to go, and if it takes multiple turns he wastes his eduaction time.
For example, in my early HRE game the son of Leopold is stranded in Nykoeping (probably didnt spell it right, apologies) which doesnt even have a school. He is administratively minded and my closest university is in Bologna.

I tried long and hard to move him with the move_character cheat but since he has basically "3" names (Jan(or Jon) von Hohenstaufen) I have no idea how the cheat recognises the names of generals. Tried with _ and just spaces, with quotes and without and a ton of other variations. Could anyone just tell me how to move him there?
I sugest letting 14year old general bodyguards have unlimited move points, it would be a little abusable but it would save much frustration as well.

Also, trying out the English out of necessity I vassaled the scots since I wanted to put my efforts against the french which attacked me and got a huge income of roughly 60k per turn from them. Arent vassals more or less completely broken? Getting at least a single vassal makes the game give you unlimited money due to the money script. Would it be possible to set a max income from a vassal? Say, 4/5 thousand per turn as a maximum. As of now it has completely ruined my english campaign.

    Thanks for reading.

How odd that you'd mention getting massive amounts of gold per turn from vassals. Usually for me they only give a large amount of gold the first turn, and then afterwards provide very little as they no longer have a lot of money left to give. To move a character with a double last name, simply do this. "Jan von_Hohenstaufen" That should work. Make sure to include the quotes when doing multiple names of course.

Don't vassal them, wipe them out - it's safer and better...

Ok, vassalge seems to work somewhat decently after the first turn, apologies for that. Still they give me 4k with just Aberden and Iverness. More than they could afford I believe but thats not a big deal anyway. Simply the 60k I got from the scots gives me a huge lead and will make my war against irish/french very easy and getting a vassal out of the irish might be easy as well. On a sidenote - can vassals still "rebel" against your reign?

And I tried using "move_character "Jan von_hohenstaufen" 161,167" (without the quotes around ofc) and it still just gives me the "errr:character not found" or something like that. Tried with just Jan and other ones.

Need to capitalize properly. "Jan von_Hohenstaufen" It must be absolutely correct. Also, yes Vassals can rebel just like any other ally. If they are allied with someone you expect to fight against, be prepared for the vassalage to break.

Thanks, amazingly works well now. No idea why it didnt earlier even if I could swear I typed the same thing.

Also is it me or are fatimids (especially), kwar and seljuks in a too favourable location? They have only rebel provinces around them and they recieve low competition. Fighting against them is usually pretty hopeless too since they can just spam units because of the amount of stacks they often have after getting all those towns. Europe is crowded to the max by comparison. Often I have seen kwar defeat mongols with ease if I play from early era. Also I never understood why there have to be so damn many cities/towns to east of the levant. Seems like largely a waste to me, also leads to the afore mentioned factions getting huge and unbeatable.
But those are just peeves, I really enjoy ss and I dont believe I will be trying out other mods anytime soon.
But the east definately requires at least 2 more factions to not be dominated by a few superpowers that can crush all smaller nations and in time overrun europe.

Seljuks are in a terrible position. Most of their settlements aren't worth much, and they are surrounded by enemies . Poor Seljuks. Anyway, though... The Fatimid have the best position, although they have to worry about the crusades thrashing them down every once in a while. I frequently end up kicking them down a notch to prevent them from becoming too powerful. More eastern factions would certainly not be a bad thing, although people would have to free up faction slots. RR/RC freed up some by removing Ireland(Although they brought back the Timurids), and removing the Templars and Kingdom of Jerusalem while replacing them with the crusader states.

Most of this era the eastern areas of the world were the richest so it makes sense they have endless stacks and lots of money in a way. The European rosters seem to be stronger overall compared to AI mid east factions that don't often reach the highest tier troops in large numbers.

As for the education... the only generals it is worth moving are ones with "administratively minded" Military minded you can stick in a castle or send out fighting immediately. Some generals come of age with basic western education already as well. It helps to build schools in every 2-3 regions as well. It boosts public order so even basic schools make a dif plus a library = 6 turns build time.
