Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden!
Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter!
spear shall be shaken, shield shall be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!
Well...In a nutshell.... He seems to be a great hero in MTWII Lore...

My early era templar general, Theodericus the lazy. With the somewhat small armies of early era templars, managed to "walk" from Antioch to Qarisiya and then from there down to acre. Skipped across Kwarezmian Jerusalem(Jihad) and nabbed alexandria/damietta. Restocking before moving to Gaza. (denmark of all people took and held Cairo in the crusade) Lovingly, Kwarezmian were dissapointed and called a jihad on me. Fatimid navy destroyed mine...my army is in the south. Fun stuff.
Istvan, of course.
The greatest sword-wielding, horse-riding, army-slaying, princess-seducing, kingdom destroyer to ever walk the plains of the Steel that never Stains! *all hail Kong* As people say, Istvan is "Pure EPICness"![]()

Starting a late ear England campaign I had my King up to many many dread. But as he got old he lost his command stars, health etc. So time was ripe for him to die on the battlefield. A near full stack of rebels spwaned near him so I send him out with just the one bodyguard.
Thus he charged at about 1500 rebels, I figured he'd get stuck, kill a lot of the rebels then die.
Helas his charge was so overwhelming the entire rebel army routed on sight.
Can't say he's the best I ever had but 50 cavalry beating 1500 is pretty cool![]()
His name is "Random general of whatever faction I happen to be playing" <sniff>
They usually get to 10/10 by 25-30 if I start early
I had a general come of age in an Aragon campaign with 5 command, 4 chivalry, 9 loyalty, and 5 piety. Probably the best early stats I've ever gotten without any battles. Well, actually I think he had also 2 ancillaries right away that increased his stats a bit.
Claude the Humane has been a very good general in every campaign I've gotten him, also Istavan and a couple others I can't remember in different era campaigns are reliably good if you can get a princess to them quickly.
Having the nickname of "The Prophet" was the coolest one I've seen...
